Hello,
I'm searching for an universal live tracker with gsm and gps module (sirf3). My favorites are the xexun TK 102 (http://www.xexun.com/ProductDetail.aspx?id=102) and the coban 102B http://www.cobanch.com/ProductShow.asp?ArticleID=410.

Have anybody made experiences with these both trackers? Which is more reliable and more precise?

Can anybody recommend another tracker with same functionalities?

Thx a lot.
Fabysan

Hello Fabysan, Welcome on GpsPassion

I own a Coban 102 which makes me fully satisfied.
I started to use it with same Web based servers but unfortunately only GpsGate worked properly. Others like GpsOrange, ... do not recongnize the Coban.
Finally I did wrote my own application, enough for what I wanted to achieve.

I would say that it works well but today I would mostly look into TK102-2.

Hi fabysan,

I use both the Xexun TK102-2 and the Coban GPS102 (not the newer 'B' model).

Of the two, I have found the Coban units to be more reliable, as none of them have failed, whereas I have got one TK102-2 which has failed.

I have not found either to be more precise and both are accurate enough for my requirements.

They use different protocols (for both SMS and GPRS), so my server needs different software for each.

Care needs to be taken when buying either of them to ensure that you do not purchase one of the many 'clones' which are on sale (and which are not as good as either).

You can identify the Xexun trackers by checking the IMEI on their website (although I am told this may not be 100% accurate)

The Coban trackers come with tracking software which you can install on your PC and the instructions will also tell you about accessing a tracking website at www.gpstrackerxy.com

They looks like more Xexun than Coban but no way to know if they aren't clones.
The more expensive one as shipping cost included, while the other one requires additional shipping fees.

Xexun isnt so reliable, IMO. Sometimes it gets locked, so i have to go to my car and turn on the engine to unlock it.
