I just bought the 2595 in late November. I have two problems that directly contradict the manual and user instructions.

First of all, the legend for traffic speeds (green, yellow, red) clearly states that if a trafic monitored road is flowing well, the color is green. There is NO green color anywhere on any road at any time in my display. The only traffic colors on roads where traffic is reported, are either yellow, red, or usually an orange color which seems to indicate normal traffic.

Can anyone report if they have the same issue and how they fixed it?

Second, and more bothersome:
The manual clearly states that, while on a hands-free call with the Garmin 2595, there is a "handset" looking icon, which I can access during the call, so that I can hang up, or mute, or direct the call to my handset only.
I never get this option during a call. Also, there is NO way for me to end a call, because this does not appear. I literally can only end a call if:
1. The peson I called hangs up (and I have no visual confirmation of that hang up so they could stay on and listen to me without my knowledge)
2. If I am calling an answering machine, I canot get off the call at all until the thing finally hangs up by itself.

This is totally unacceptable and cannot possibly be correct. If anyone has a working system without these issues, please tell me the software version number you have so I can check it. I assume this is a software bug or bad software load .

On my former Garmin there was an icon on my screen at all times until the call was ended, either by me or the receiver.

Thanks

George

Hi George,
I have a 2595 and On the traffic they are referring to the symbol on the map page left side that shows 2 cars. There is a picture of the icon on page 48. You can also touch it to see traffic conditions. It changes colors if the traffic changes and also I get pop up icons on the page to alert me of construction and other things. On the phone I really can't answer that as I have an IPhone 4 and it won't work right with the 2595, the volume is too weak. Jerry

The roads never show green only yellow and red.

I'm betting the orange color is the theme color for roads which you have chosen.

I have the Garmin 3790LMT and GTM 35. I have both the free Navteq and paid-for Clear Channel traffic subscriptions. I noted that I have only yellow and red traffic flow indicators.
I am in Louisville, KY. I rarely might see green for roads that are otherwise typically red/yellow (to show is is better than normal). In all cases, the flow lines are narrow and very hard to read. The default theme is "orange roads", so I changed that to British Blue for better contrast.
[My old MSN Direct Traffic map showed all area highways and some secondary roads as green, yellow, and red. It also meant you knew where there was no coverage.]
This Navteq/Clear Channel method is clearly inferior, and I am disappointed.

I don't think I ever see any indication on the map of a "green" situation using a 3790. The small icon in the upper left with the 2 vehicles in it will show green, yellow or red but only yellow and red appear on/beside the road on map.

My 3790 with the free Navteq traffic shows green, but I believe only for construction areas or similar "incidents" that don't have a measurable speed flow (i.e. delay estimate) available:

Definitely dissapppointing.
I really was used to the "full" display offered through MSN Direct, in which ALL traffic flow - "Green for no problems" - is visualized (as well as where that traffic coverage ENDS).
How come Google Maps, and Inrix can provide this and my Garmin with two different traffic channels cannot?

Hi Guys

My 2595 displays a phone icon in the upper left corner when I am on a call, tapping it gives me a number of phone option including transfer to handset, end call, keypad etc.

The traffic module does NOT change the colour of roads on the map you are navigating on. It changes the icon colour and then you can access traffic reports which will show you a map of your route with the colours.

Best
