TK-203 (tk-201)??

Hi guys ;)

I hope I'm posting this in the correct place .

I've just bought a TK-203 GPS tracker and I'm a bit confused at the commands list in the manual.

The things that are confusing me are:

1. It says That i need to initialize it by texting the command begin+password (123456), But it seems to work without sending the command.

2. If you need to send the command begin+password to start it, How do you stop it?

Thanks to any help given ;)

begin123456 will either initialise the tracker or re-initialise it, if required.

You can not 'stop' the tracker. It will always respond to requests it receives.

Thanks for the reply

I did a be more searching (and testing) and found that to arm it you need to send arm123456 and to disarm it you need to send disarm123456.....

So what exactly does the begin123456 actually do (what's the point in sending it) as the tracker works without sending that command?

Thanks again ;)

@Where Am I: it's just a precaution. If you have admin numbers set, those will be cleared, GPRS APN, server IP/port will be cleared, etc. So others won't we able to track you (eg. the one who sold you the tracker).
begin123456 clears everything, except for the password. The password remains the same as it was before the begin command.
It is like formatting a pendrive that you take out of the box. It could be infected with virus when testing in the factory, some worker may have stored some of his family photos, etc.

I have a GPS TK-203 and have followed the installation and setup instructions. Unfortunately the SMS messages the unit responds with are unreadable and my cellphone fault message simply says "Unsupported message type".

Has anyone else had this problem? What do I have to do to fix it?

Problem is now cured. I have had the unit replaced by the supplier.
