I thought it would be best to start a new topic for this update.
I see the update available but the old Garmin Map Update application crashes as soon as it goes to the download page. Has anyone got it to work?

| [ed]Good idea to start a new topic but 2012.30 has NOT been released as of this posting in North America, only the Europe version is available. |

| Yes, that is why I chose the topic "CNE" - I believe that is the Garmin abbreviation for City Navigator Europe, right? |

@ lucvl:
Perhaps your choice of bike has you expecting much faster performance [grin].
Actually, 5 mb/s is not all that fast and coupled with server load and network congestion could result in a few hours of download. I don't know the size of the Euro map, but the previous NA map took almost an hour here with a 20 mb/s cable connection.

@lucvl
You can reduce the time of the download by just selecting Western Europe rather than the whole Europe map, unless of course you plan to travel in Eastern Europe! |

Just attempt the download again, it will only download the bit it hasn't got so should be much quicker! |

nothing quicker at all, but something totally different: it keeps on popping up with an error, but when I removed the GPS from my pc the map is on 2012.30. Strange, not? |

I chose install to computer and device and also ticked leave instal files on computer.
Anyone know if I can copy some files across onto a second PC and instal 2012-30 for use wth mapsource on there too? If so which files?
I can't do a fresh install on the second PC as it's locked down by my work IT people and I can't run ActiveX to install Garmin Communicator Plugin which seems to be the only way to install maps nowadays. |

Hey there
Long time since I came over here. Everything went smooth as long as I used my PB G4... Problems came with the purchase of a MacBookPro in July. To be precise, problems with my Os and... Garmin lifetime map updater!
Every updates takes also about 5hrs to download. Knowing that, last night I did it just before going to sleep after ensuring that the energy saving was on never sleep. This morning bingo the MBP crashed. Reload the thing, a install it on my Mac.
The problem is that I can't find that Full coverage Europe 2012.30 anywhere on my machine except in ~ - library - Caches- Com.garmin If I open base camp this update is not showing... where could it hide?
Also, when it finished download and install on my Mac the option came to install it on the Zumo... Not enough place to install it on the Zumo! What to do ? I could just transfer, perhaps, the Western Europe map only? What I don't understand is why there not enough room on the Zumo knowing that it has already what I believe to be full Europe?
The newest should overwrite the oldest no? thus creating place ?
Thanks for reading that long one and for you're help
Cheers
Maps on the Zumo installed are cn Europe NT 2012.20 3D and city navigator Europe NT 2012.20. |
