Curious indeed.
Just wondering: Could one then use this Singapore firmware safely to update a Taiwan 2465 (V2.5(TWN)-->V2.8(SG)) and vise versa without having to use Turbo's RGN tool?
One of the major differences in the features between the Taiwan and the Singapore devices seems to be the Voice Commands: Taiwan version uses Mandarin Chinese and Singapore version uses British English. |

Very informative.
What 2465 do you have? Taiwan? Singapore?
I have the Taiwan model and am wondering if I could update it safely with the SG firmware as posted since the two models seem to have the same hardware ID.

How about Taiwan version., has the same features as Sg/My(other than voice command) ?
I'm not sure about converting.,(If you like to try so please use original TWN boot.bin) |

The Taiwan version has basically the same functionality and graphics as the SG/MY version.
The differences that I know of:
1. Taiwan version uses Mandarin Chinese for voice commands. SG version uses British English.
2. Taiwan version comes with Taiwan Map that is not available for sale.
The main issue that I have with the Taiwan version (firmware V2.5 and the original) is that when using the US Map, it does not display the name of the current street at the bottom center of the screen. It does not display the names of most of the cross streets and makes it basically useless for navigation in the U.S. Maybe it has problems with all English-language maps?
I have installed the US firmware using Turbo's technique. And it works pretty well with the US map. The names of all the cross streets are now displayed. However, I lose the compass function and some other features.
Does the SG/MY version display the names of all cross streets?
I might give V2.8 a try this weekend. |

Useful feature for full screen jcv displaying
You will see very useful data (within yellow line) to show up , let you know distance to jcv point. (as 3790 Asian can do so)
Both jcv and lane info will appear till you reach jcv point.

Then you can't use this firmware for your 2555.
