The audio output on my 600c is basically dead - it just motorboats (warbles) as soon as the unit is turned on.
Can somebody help me get it repaired cheap? (Lowrance will only fix it for a flat rate of $300, which is too much for a GPS with outdated maps! They also will not provide me with a schematic, as others on this forum have indicated.)
Can somebody give me any repair tips for this problem?
Or would somebody sell me their 600c cheap? Because I can swap out parts from my unit, I would mostly be interested in a unit that is really inexpensive because it has a failed hard drive or flakey touchscreen or backlight. I have been watching eBay, but that appears to be a hit & miss proposition because 'non-working' units do not describe what part has failed, and working units have been a little pricy for my budget.
Thanks. I really hate to give up my iWay because it works so well on my motorcycle and I hate to abandon my investment in mounts and custom audio interface...

Does the audio sound OK with the direct-wire cord? There have been some reports of the amplified speaker/power plug going bad. If the audio on the hard-wire cord is OK then you may just need to put a lighter-plug on that and couple the audio to an amplified external speaker.
If, however, the audio on both cords is dead, you're probably screwed. Learn to love the pink line and get used to no audio prompts. |
