|
Can Anybody Help Me, Copy All Their Files On Their GPS, Upload It somewhere like dropbox, so I could download it? Please, I'm in great need of strangers' kindness!!! (It does not have to include the map .img file)
That means when I plug in my garmin gps, there's no file on the usb mass storage drive!!! No system files whatsoever. And please don't criticize me for being stupid, that was careless act on my part. |

Restore bei "System Software Missing"
Problem: Nach dem Einschalten steht "System Software Missing" auf dem Nüvi und es
geht nichts mehr. Das kann z.B. durch ein schief gegangenes Software-Update mit dem
WebUpdater passieren. Leider kann man nicht einfach das Nüvi-Laufwerk am PC formatieren
und ein Backup aufspielen, weil der Nüvi auch nicht mehr als USB Mass Storage
Device erkannt wird.
Tipp: Ein Restore (Wiederherstellen) durchführen! Dazu wird Folgendes benötigt:
1. Den Garmin WebUpdater downloaden (wegen USB Treiber; siehe weiter unten). Wer
den WebUpdater schon drauf hat, kann diesen Schritt überspringen!
2. Die passenden Restore Files (je nach Hardware) sind inzwischen von den offiziellen
Garmin-Seiten verschwunden und jetzt nur noch bei einem privaten Dienst zu finden:
für den Nüvi 300/350: www.badongo.com/de/file/2500799
für den Nüvi 310/360: www.badongo.com/de/file/2500925
Holt euch die Files, solange es sie noch gibt!
3. Das letztgültige Update-File von Garmin passend zur Hardware von www8.garmin.
com/ support/blosp.jsp laden.*
Die Prozedur:
1. Wenn noch nicht geschehen, den WebUpdater von Garmin installieren. Wenn man sich
das Installationsverzeichnis nachher anschaut, sieht man, dass es dort ein Verzeichnis
"USB_Drivers" gibt. Dieses wird u.U. für den nächsten Schritt benötigt.
2. Das oben im Punkt 2 herunter geladene Restore-File entpacken. Darin befinden sich
zwei Dateien: replacement_software.rgn und Updater.exe.
3. Jetzt den Nüvi gleichzeitig in der rechten oberen Bildschirmecke und den Einschalttaster
drücken - und beides während der folgenden Prozedur gedrückt halten!. Im
Display erscheint "Pre-Boot Mode". Dieser Modus bleibt nur ca. eine Minute! Sobald die
Anzeige erscheint, den Nüvi über USB mit dem PC verbinden (Drücken & Halten von Taster
und Bildschirmecke nicht vergessen!).
(Der nachfolgende Teil läuft u.U. automatisch ab: Windows meldet, dass es eine neue
Hardware gefunden hat. Bei der Frage nach den Treibern auf das oben genannte Verzeichnis
"USB_Drivers" verweisen.) Der Nüvi wird jetzt eingebunden als Garmin USB Device.
Da wahrscheinlich die oben erwähnte Minute des Pre-Boot Mode abgelaufen ist,
schaltet man den Nüvi wieder aus. Dieser Punkt ist erforderlich, um die notwendigen
USB-Treiber in Windows zu installieren.
4. Jetzt die Datei Updater.exe (aus Punkt 2 oben) aufrufen. Man sieht, dass im Updater-
Programm ein USB Device zwar ausgewählt werden kann, aber kein Eintrag vorhanden
ist. Durch Drücken & Halten der rechten oberen Bildschirmecke und des Einschalttasters
wieder in "Pre-Boot Mode" gehen und erneut den Nüvi mit dem PC verbinden. Im Updater-
Programm wird nun unter USB der Nüvi angezeigt, man wählt USB aus und bestätigt
mit OK. Sobald am Nüvi "Loader" angezeigt wird, kann man beide Tasten loslassen.
Nachdem der Updater fertig ist, den Nüvi vom PC trennen.
5. Als letzter Schritt wird noch ein normales Firmware Upgrade auf die gewünschte Version
durchgeführt.
Der übliche DISCLAIMER: Für etwaige zerstörte Nüvis kann natürlich keine Verantwortung
übernommen werden. (Danke an FreeBird für Recherche, Übersetzung und Testlauf
des Tipps! Super gemacht!)
* Zusatztipp: Natürlich kann man das Procedere auch nutzen, um eine ältere Firmware
aufzuspielen. Unter http://gpsinformation.org/perry/nuvi/ findet man alle bisherigen
Firmwares für die Nüvis der 3xx und 6xx-Serien. (Danke an Perry für's Sammeln und
klana für den Hinweis!) |

Sure its possible that the links are not working, they are from 2006.
To translate you can use google or Word.
If you sent me your emailaddress I can try to send you the 2 files.

| At the very least tell us what language the post is in! I used Google and Word to translate from Dutch to English and for the most part the whole post is still totally unreadable. |

Hi all,
My English is not so very well and I am a dutchman, the language text above is German.
Therefor I did copy the text because a normal user should know how to translate this text.
I did it now for you with Word2003.
And do not take it personel but we all know dat French people have problems with other languages.
So, and now the text: (I will also help you with teamviewer, I overtake than your PC, or sent me a email).
Restore in "System Software Missing" problem: after you turn on "System Software Missing" is on the nüvi, and nothing more. This can happen for example by a software update gone wrong with the downloads. Unfortunately you can not simply format the nüvi drive on a PC and a backup play, because the nüvi also no longer as USB mass storage device is detected. Tip: Perform A restore (restore)! To do this the following is required:
1. download the Garmin WebUpdater (due to USB driver; see below). If you have the downloads already on it, you can skip this step!
2. The appropriate restore files (depending on hardware) have now disappeared from the official Garmin sites and finding only in a private service: for the Nuvi 300 / 350: www.badongo.com/de/file/2500799 for the nüvi 310 / 360: www.badongo.com/de/file/2500925 fetches you the files as long as they still exist!
3. The ultimate update file from Garmin for the hardware of www8.garmin. com / support/blosp.jsp load. * the procedure:
1. If you have not already done so, install the downloads from Garmin. If you look after at the installation directory, you will see that there is a directory "USB_Drivers". This is sometimes required for the next step. Extract
2. restore file downloaded above in point 2. Is are two files: replacement_software.rgn and updater.exe.
3. Now press - the nüvi in the upper-right corner of the screen at the same time and the power button and hold down both during the following procedure. The display reads "Pre-boot mode". This mode is only about a minute! Connect as soon as the display, the nüvi with the PC via USB (press & hold button and corner of the screen don't forget!). (The subsequent part may automatically expires: Windows reports that it has found a new hardware.) (The question for the drivers the above point to directory "USB_Drivers".) The nüvi is now included as Garmin USB device. Because probably the above mentioned minute has expired the pre-boot mode, it switches off the nüvi. This point is required to install the necessary USB drivers in Windows. 4. Now call the file Updater.exe (from point 2 above). You can see in the heuristically program a USB device while can be selected, but there is no entry. Go by pressing and holding the right upper corner of the screen and the power button again in "Pre-boot mode" and again connect the nüvi to the PC. In the heuristically program is now displayed under USB of the nüvi, you select USB and confirm with OK. Once on the nüvi "Loader" is displayed, you can let go of both buttons. After the Updater is finished, the nüvi from the PC. 5. As a final step, the still a normal is performed firmware upgrade to the version you want. The usual DISCLAIMER: No responsibility can be taken course for any destroyed Nüvis. (Thanks to FreeBird for research, translation, and test run of tips!) (Super made!) * Additional Tip: of course you can also use the procedure to apply an older firmware. Under http://gpsinformation.org/perry/nuvi/ you can find all previous firmwares for the Nüvis of the 3xx and 6xx series. (Thanks to Perry's collecting and klana for the note!)
