If you have been wanting one of these: well, buying one today from will save you $50 over regularly available pricing.

- MSRP is now $320 on Garmin's website.
- Available online at newegg and elsewhere for $290.
- $50 coupon code EMCYTZT388 for
- Coupon valid today only: 04/6/11.
- Shipping is free (and newegg typically ship same day or next day).

I'm not sure if I'd consider this the bargain of the century, given the trend of recent pricing for AIO PND devices, and because this model has no free maps, but if you want one, and you want it now, the information might be useful to you. One year of nüLink! connected services.

He he! It sounds like you had fun that day. It's sitting in situations like that that make me want to buy a connected device in the first place, but I'm not sure if many of them would have done much better, to be honest. I think they may be more successful in dealing with city traffic, rather than freak incidents on rural freeways. Essentially, having a phone that can browse the web might be the best way to avoid those (which is what you did, I think).

The sole reviewer on newegg seems to like his nüLink! 1695, even if he only rated 3/5 stars. Imagine if you had paid $450 for yours (maybe you did, but I hope not!). At least with this deal, if you find you can't live with it's shortcomings (they all have shortcomings of some description), you can choose between two options:

- Stupid option: throw it out the window in a fit of rage.
- Smart option: sell it on eBay for a reasonable price.
