Team,
I recently bought TK103 tracking software and wanted to find an application that provided online eb tracking on MY server and on linux... did not find much.
Decided to make my own application
Here is where you can find the same http://code.google.com/p/web-gpstracker/
Let me know, if you need any help.

Hello, With interest i have read your code. Nicely don in a short time. I have a question do. Is it possible not to use the python file portlistener but to use a PHP file instead fore it. I am not a Python user. Could you help me to create a PHP file instead. Yhe reason for me to do so is that i am not running a dedicated Server but a web-hosted server doing so i cant run python files.
Thanx in advanced and keep up the good work.

Oops Python must be read as Perl in the topic above.
Sorry my mistake. |

Yes, it is possible.
It is possible to use the socket() function in php to achieve the same thing. It is not reliable tho, since i have observed things like hanging very frequently. Also, when php code hangs, the webserver - apache hangs and it was becoming difficult for me to manage that.... the perl file on the other hand has shown tremendous resilience and has been working without instance since two weeks...
So, i suspect, you will have no choice but to go for perl routing only.

Hello,
[ed]This tool has been under no development so far, however, with the amount of interest that this code has generated, I would like to revive the development for it.
If anyone would like to contribute - in terms of feature sets suggestions, or code writing or anything else, feel free to reach out to me.

@asinha (which means "little wing" in portuguese) - i have come across the same problem as you, but i chose to write the code in C++ as opposed to PHP for the same reasons that you did: reliability and performance.
i have seen some java code, but i needed a project to pick up some C programming skills and i opted for this solution, even though i would believe that Java code will be more portable and definitely easier to reuse code.
i could be interested in joining efforts towards developing a tracking platform, depending on what business model you are considering. |

i should be able to open access of a demo test sometime early next week and then i willlet you know.
in the meantime, whoever would like to participate in this project, can come forward, introduce themselves and name their interests and skills. how does that sound?
i start: i develop fleet tracking systems for agricultural and sales support. my code is proprietary and all the technology belongs to me, no third parties involved.
while being far from an expert, i code in java (android and pc), php, javascript, c and c++. i draw relational databases using mysql.
my current solution integrates android smartphones, tk103, gt02, gt06, mt90, vt200 and c801b vehicle trackers (albeit, only tk103 and gt02 are fully implemented, the rest can only track and, occasionally, save heartbeat data).
i am looking for coders who are interested in developing a free PROPRIETARY gps tracking suite.
i am also looking for commercial contacts interested in sales and distribution of trackers in various countries (in case you already ARE a distributor, even better!).
any bids? |
