Thanks legolas for posting your fix.
I managed to get the original firmware from the company that made my Chinese unit.
The problem is that my system will not move off of the "Welcome to Navigation System" screen.
I installed the Miopocket mini without any problem and then installed Miopocket 4 the SD version. Everything went fine with the install but when it rebooted the unit just stuck on the "Welcome to Navigation System" screen. No matter what I do it won't change. I've reset it multiple times. I've taken the system out of my car for 36 hours but nothing. I even put the original firmware on an SD card and tried updating via the instructions from the company that built it but nothing changes.
Anyone with a suggestion would be much appreciated. |

I'm trying to setup a bluetooth connection between my mobile phone and my Mio C520 so I can use the internet on it. I'm doing the following
- Make a new connection >Dial Up Connection etc but I'm getting stuck on the area code & Phone number part.
Any ideas?
Thank you |

Hi
I have a chinese (noname) GPS 5" from DealExtreme.com.
I installed MioPocket (and works perfectly), but would like to know if I can disable the device's original menu
For now, turning on the device, it first shows the original menu, and after a few seconds to load MioPocket
The following image is the menu that has my GPS

Set up the connection on the C520 and search for BT devices making sure your 'phone is visible to BT. |

Hi, MioAutoRun.mscr line 24-26 can't write into registry. I think it's like Guest account. Whether WinCE 5 to know the guest account? |

@ricardo_gunawan,
Completely simply: it is too little RAM (where the registry is hold during runtime) available. My tipp: with TaskManager close all unnecessary apps before you try to install MioPocket. You reach TaskManager - with which you can kill any application, hence be prudent - when installation starts, because you initially are shown a StartupMenu, but this of course only, if in MioPocket's settings this is true
[Unlock] ;Whether the startup menu is shown. StartupMenu=1

I just tried to update my Nextar unit from 3.0 to MioPocket 4.0 and am having some problems. The install worked, I can see all the icons in MioPocket 4 and can even scroll through the icons (great feature). But when I try to click on most of them I get this message: Cannot find "______" (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available (in the underlined part above is whatever icon I try to click on). That is all I am able to do with my unit currently. What did I do wrong? Any suggestions? One thing I suspect is when removing MioPocket 3.0 I did not delete the MioAutoRun folder from the ResidentFlash on my GPS unit. I tried to but when I did a popup window said: MioAutoRun could not be detected. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. Any suggestions on how to get this folder out of my ResidentFlash? Or does that have nothing to do with my problem? Any help is greatly appreciated. |

I add this line at top of MioAutoRun.mscr: RunWait ("sdmmc\mobilenavigator\taskmgr.exe")
Processes viewed with Taskmgr.exe: \sdmmc\mobilenavigator\taskmgr.exe \sdmmc\mobilenavigator\mortscript.exe \windows\osd.exe \sdmmc\mobilenavigator\mobilenavigator.exe \windows\ovl_manager.exe \windows\poweroff.exe \windows\gpsmc.exe \windows\pvshell.exe \windows\gwes.exe \windows\shell.exe \windows\device.exe \windows\filesys.exe \windwos\nk.exe
which program i should terminate ? |

You can't kill mobilenavigator.exe, because MioAutoRun.exe and MioAutoRun.mscr must be renamed to mobilenavigator.* (this can be read in MioPocket Readme)
PVShell.exe is for showing menu when device is turn on, so it can't be killed either, because when I pressed "Navigation" menu, the device direct me to MobileNavigator.mscr and MobileNavigator.exe
Anyway, I tried to kill only gpsmc.exe, but it did'nt work. It still display me an error: "Line 24 MioAutoRun.mscr can't write registry" (or something like that)
BTW: I write "MioAutoRun.mscr" because i want you to know what file exactly that contain error, because actually it is "MobileNavigator.mscr"
Sorry about my poor english |

@jwoegerbauer:
Oh yes, i tried to remark line 24-26 in MioAutoRun.mscr, MioPocket shows me menu that contains to Run MioPocket, Exit, Disable this menu, Set Timeout, and bla bla bla. But if I choose "Run MioPocket", it didnt do anything.
And i tried too to run regedit, but I can't add new key in HKCR just like Line 24 in MioAutoRun.mscr. |
