Sounds like the download may not have finished properly or is becoming corrupted at some point in the process. The error message your getting would be the one you'd get if you attempted to run the .exe file and it wasn't a complete file.

I thought that as well but I've d/led it 3 times now... once with Firefox, once with IE 64 bit and once with IE 32bit- no joy. I guess I could try with my netbook which is running XP. Each time it says the download was verified hmmmmm.

Same here.... and interestingly the bad file is *exactly* the same size as the North American map file. It's not you - it's corrupt at the source.

Cheers!

Same problem here: the only file I'm getting for the Euro part of my 775 is a 215 MB dmg, when the normal file size for the maps+installer should be 12-15 times bigger. Obviously, the dmg in question (Disk Image, in Mac-speak) is useless, cannot be mounted etc.

Strangely enough, the DMG for North America is as big as it should be (2.73 GB) and the upgrade went quite smoothly.

Let's give Garmin another day or two (and some feedback!), to become aware of the problem (they had a similar one last winter, if I remember correctly)

Ya... there is a reason for that.

I D/L it 4 times and it would not install. Kept saying the file was corrupt.

I used 7-zip to unpack it and low and behold.... there was the NORTH AMERICAN maps... or at least portions of it... in the file that is supposed to be Europe.

So there is definately a problem at the source.

Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

We are currently having problems with the CN EU 2011.10 map update. Our IT department is currently working to resolve the issue. Please try downloading the maps again next week sometime. Thank you for your
patience.
