| I did the 3.60 update through WebUpdater but now my traffic icon is gone. I restarted and drove around awhile to see if it would return but no luck. Any advice? |

I had the same problem with the tarffic. I search the Garmin knowledge base and found a solution that worked. You just need to rest your FM Traffic tables.
http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/site/us/support/searchsupport?search_key=can't+see+traffic Here's the instructions from the FAQ.
Power your device on by connecting it to the GTM traffic cable Touch View Map Touch Speed (If you are currently in a route this may be changed to Arrival) Touch and hold the middle of the MPH Speedometer Touch Developer Info Touch the Down Arrow Touch GTM FM Table Touch the menu button (3 horizontal lines) in the upper left corner [Note: This step only applies to the 2200, 2300, and 3700 series units.] Touch Reset Touch Yes Touch and hold the Back button to return to the main menu

Thanks. Resetting the FM Traffic Tables did the trick. The icon appeared within a couple of minutes of driving.
BTW: The maps seems to have more detail now. I am now seeing railroad tracks that did not show previously. I have the Detail set to Most. Have you guys seen any other visible changes? |

| When "Most detailed" option was selected, railroad tracks were already displayed with 2.50 version |

The railroad tracks were indeed being displayed with v2.50 but that was only at close zoom levels. Now with v3.60, the RR tracks are being displayed up until the map detail starts to drop the smallest streets from the display. Much improved! We definitely need to be seeing where these tracks are since there have been numerous instances where people have actually turned onto the tracks (parallel with a road very close by) thinking they were where the GPS was telling them to turn. Now you can see them very clearly without zooming in so far and there's no doubt that they are RR tracks.
BTW, I've always had my map detail set to the Most setting. |

@SergZak Thanks for the clarification. I knew I hadn't been seeing RR tracks at my usual zoom level.
I hooked the EcoRoute HD accessory last night on my Jetta. Paired quickly and works well. Now I just have to figure out what some of those gauges mean, if anything, for my diesel. |

I wonder if this meams that Garmin is moving back to showing more details on their map displays ?
I truly miss the high level of detail shown on the new units compared to my 2730.
I hope Garmin will allow the USER to make the choice of displaying the high level of detail.... even if you have to sacrifice the response/redrawing time.
I'd make that sacrifice for sure. I always liked driving and actually seeing the names of lakes, ponds, parks etc beinig displayed on my 2730.
I really miss it on my 885t. |

I suppose you need to define "high level of detail". My 3790 shows more labeled streets than any other Nuvi I have owned and it's a huge improvement IMO. Literally every street is labeled if you zoom in. The 1695, which has the same user interface, also does this but doesn't look as elegant because the screen is only 480x272 instead of 800x480 on the 3700 series.

However, what you may *not* like is the reduced choices in map detail settings - only 3 levels instead of 5. So setting the 3790 at the max causes the small streets to drop off that map when you go out farther than .3 miles. This didn't happen until you went out farther than .8 miles on older Nuvi's as well as the StreetPilots.
The 3700 series does show city names however, and other new models seem reluctant to do that. |

| I'm surprised that wasn't already offered on the 3700's. Prompted navigation was already on the 1695 |

Yes, that's right but ... let me point some nuvi 3790 problem.
Nuvi users know following message: "New Extras data found on card. Would you like to install this data so that it will be available if the card is removed ?"
There is some trick (nuvi 760, 765) to skip copying and also skip asking again. For nuvi question you should do: Answer-> [Yes] button Fill box-> "Don't ask me again" Choose-> [Skip] button
Unfortunately it is'n possible in nuvi 3790 If you don't want to copy data to internal memory you need to answer above question everytime you turn ON nuvi 3790.
Good news. Solved in SW 3.60 |

I just ordered my first portable GPS;a Nuvi 3750. I ordered the bean bag mount 010-10908. But on the Garmin website they list the number as 010-10908-02 . Hope I did not get the wrong one. I know from searching, that web updater is better then my dashboard. I am wondering if all I need is web updater and nothing else? I also ordered the lifetime map updates. And I got the ac adapter that plugs in to the nuvi cigarette lighter plug. Not sure if I even needed it? When my new GPS arrives, is there a order that I should do things? Such as registering it, web updater, lifetime maps, firmware updates? |

Good luck with your 3750. The 37xx series is really a step above anything else out there.
There probably isn't a real 'order' to what you do when you get your 3750 but I'd suggest that when your Nuvi arrives the first thing you do is take a full backup of it's internal storage drive. If your using simply a "copy and paste" method to copy the Nuvi files to a folder on your computer, make sure you alter the View Options in Windows so that all hidden files and folders as well as System files are visible in Windows Explorer. If you don't then you will not be able to get a copy of the .system folder which contains all the map files.
Once you have your backup, you can download Webupdater and install it on your computer from the Garmin website. If your going to be installing custom POI files at some point you can also download and install POIloader from the Garmin site.
Once Webupdater is installed you can attach the 3750 to your PC and run it to install any firmware updates that are available. Garmin has just released a firmware update for the 37xx models so there is probably one waiting for you. Of course you could also install any voices, vehicles and other updates available via Webupdater.
Finally, attach the Nuvi to the PC and go to myGarmin.com and open an account, if you don't already have one, and register the 3750. At that point you will be able to see if there is a map update available and if there is you can begin the download. Be sure to watch the map install screens carefully and select "Install Options" when you see it in the bottom left corner of the screen. From Install Options you can pick how you want the maps installed. It's always a good idea to pick to install them on your Nuvi and on the computer.

The nuvi will include the cigarette lighter cord in the package. Do you mean that you ordered an additional one? If so, you won't need it unless you want a spare (but in that case you would probably also want a spare cradle if you're using it in two different cars). |

Rick, I haven't been game to try this but can you do an image/restore of the partition in the Nuvi? I do backup that partition with an imaging program but so far I haven't had a need to restore the image. |
