TOPIC - DESTINATOR 9 FOR IPHONE
Real Time Traffic - Google Local - Roadsigns - Navteq Maps of NA - 30 Day Trial

Product page on the Destinator site : http://www.idestinator.com/

Introduction : Destinator was one of the first GPS Assisted navigation programs for mobile devices in 2001 and its v2 was the first to offer 3D navigation in late 2002. Fast-forwarding to early 2010 v9 arrived on Windows Mobile and Android and now the iPhone version is available.

Features : On-Board and Connected : Destinator offers "on-board" navigation, which means it can work autonomously with maps stored on the device and routes calculated directly. It can access the network for "connected" features though, such as real-time traffic, google local search or Live Weather. The navigation feature set is complete with 2D/3D, Lane guidance, Roadsigns, Text to Speech guidance (pronounces full street names), trip planning, etc...

Coverage : The only limitation at this point is coverage with maps being available for the USA and Canada, but they are working on adding European Maps

Pricing : Destinator 9 is available as a unusual (unique ?) 30 day trial and the full price is $79 - iTunes link.

FREE GIVEAWAY March 13th, 14th, 2010 : Destinator have kindly offered to give 5 full licences to GpsPasSion forum members. To get your free licence post a message below by Sunday 03/14 8PM PST saying how you found out about Destinator. The five winners will get their code via PM on Monday. If you don't get the "call", you can still try it out for 30 days and share your thoughts ;-)

Was looking at the pics of the reality view on the itunes link and it kinda looks like the Garmin reality view, like the way the bridges, trees, ect look. This the only place I have heard of this app but it looks pretty good.

I check your forum every day to keep updated on what is new in PNDs. I have been looking for a GPS program for my Iphone and Destinator 9 looks like it would be worth trying. Just reading about it on itunes makes it sound like it has more features than any other iphone program yet. If I got a free license I would be very happy to post my experiences with it.

Wow, this is great! GPSPassion is one of the few sites I have actually paid my dues :-)

I found out about Destinator years ago when it was still the Windows Mobile / PocketPC dominated platforms for mobile nav. How amazing that they are still doing well and into ver 9 and expanding into iPhone.

I first found out about Destinator on GPSPassion when I was using an old Mio GPS enabled Pocket PC. Now I have an iPhone and would love to have this new version! Looks great.

I read this on GPS Passion RSS feed I have set up on my Google Home page (along with all sorts of other news). But I don't live in USA, Canada or Europe. Do they have maps for Australia? I'd like to try destinator again. I had an old version on my Dell Axim X51V. I currently use Sygic on my iphone and my wife uses Tomtom.

I'll beta test!

I have been a user of Navigation software and a regular reader of Gpspassion.com for years, too. I made my first Navigation system with iPaq PocketPC + TomTom + BT GPS receiver about 10 years ago. Since then I made about 25 Navigation systems and AIO for my many friends & family (for some multiple times). I have used Garmin, TomTom and iGuidance. That is in addition to MS Streets and Google Maps. On my iPhone I tried Motion X GPS drive, TomTom, and Waze. I love TomTom's easy to read graphics, but iGuidance has better maps.

I love navigation software and use it quite a bit. I have a good eye on what is good, bad and ugly :-). In my work I do a lot of testing for software User interfaces. I'll be very happy to beta test the Destinator on my iPhone 3GS.
