Has anyone been able to successfully download 2010.40? I've been trying for a while and keep getting no such file on server, fatal error.
This is my first update using Lifetime, so curious if there's a trick to it?

I am glad that Garmin continue to use 2010, and not starting on 2011.
How to you see on Garmins page what version you are buying? |
Previously owned : GPS "eTrex Yellow" "GPSmap 76S" "GPSMap 60CS" "GPSMAP 60CSx" "Nüvi 660" Unit I have now :"Nüvi 760 EU" "Nüvi 765" "Edge 305" "Colorado 300" |

Yes and it gave me a product key that is now displayed, but no joy with the download. I've got to go out (night mountain biking club!), so I'll try later. Thanks.

| No change on Garmin's part for the time being, if you look at the history of versions here : http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/news.asp?ID=655 , you'll see that the switch to 2011.10 should occur with the next maps, sometime in April. It's certainly better than it once was once was then they released 2009 maps in 07/2007...now let's hope the 2010.40 European maps will be made available soon, they can probably skip the 2010.30 maps now ;-) |

Darn. I just updated to 2010.30 on 1/19 for a newly purchased 255W as my one free update. I wonder if I call Garmin if they'll give me the 2010.40 update free.
Should have waited a couple of days. |

| You could call them, but don't fell bad about it, the nuMaps guarantee entitles you to the latest maps at the time of purchase (iFix date techically, see the dedicated topic for details) so that would have been the 2010.30 maps. It's not a voucher to download any new maps that become available in the next 60 days. The only "loophole" might be if you wait long enough for the old maps to be removed from the servers before downloading your free update. |

| Downloaded 2010.40 OK (sixth or seventh try), at 2:57 PM PST. No luck with Europe 2010.30, though ("File not found"). |

I just got off the phone with Garmin. My 1490T is only two weeks old and just did the .30 update last week. Garmin told me to take it back to Costco and get a new one. What a waste. Not to mention I have a nice screen protector on it. I'm going to see if Lifetime maps goes on sale at Amazon. I have lifetime on my 360. I hate it that my 360 now has newer maps than my 1490T
That will teach me to be prompt in upgrading :-)

| Picked up the 1690 a few weeks ago, and did not see the 60 Guarantee offer in myDashboard ... so i reached out to Garmin support initially asking for an update to 2010.30, but then i sent in a second email request to allow 60 day Guarantee - thru Feb ... they answered my first email by posting an update for 2010.30 in myDashboard ... i downloaded, and then this came out a couple weeks later. i'm back and forth w/ them, but don't think i'll win my request for an add'l update. i'm ok w/ 2010.30 since there's a new highway in that version that i travel regularly, but it's always nice to have most updated version ... they're pretty tight on this; don't blame them. We'll see ... |
