After I login into My Garmin, I click on "Manage Maps" under "MY Maps" I then click on "Map Downloads" and it then gives me the option to download the "nüMaps Lifetime™ North America 2010.30"

If I then click on the "Download" button, it gives me the option to "Launch Download Manager". If I click on this then it begin to download, but soon gives me the error message above.

I downloaded, installed 2010.30 and booted up my 760 and no issues found.

Everyone is going to access Garmin's server so getting access may be difficult, so wait for an off-peak time and try again.

Rats! I just purchased a 255W and registered it yesterday. This morning I logged onto MyGarmin and I was able to update my software to 6.00 and my maps to NA 2010.20.

I just checked, and the new map update is available for me.....to purchase.

Is the 60 day map update guarantee only good for one map update in 60 days? If so, I might as well RMA the GPS and buy a new one.

Yes, one downloaded map update for sure, the only hope for someone who has just bought a GPS, say yesterday when the new maps were still 2010.20 BUT not downloaded them, is so "sit it out" and wait for the old maps to be taken off the Garmin servers, and at that time they should be able to download the new maps.

Would someone from SoCal see if the street ZAHARIAS RIDGE in Yorba Linda shows up on this new update?

It doesn't on 2010.20 so I'd like to see how up to date this version is.

Thanks!

I emailed Garmin Tech Support and they replied that I updated to 2010.20 at 8:00am and 2010.30 was released at 10:00am. Since it was so close they credited my account with a free update to 2010.30.

They replied to my email within an hour of my sending it. I'm impressed with Garmin Support.

I'd like to mention that the 2010.30 map installer now allows alternate installation options:

1. Install the map data to GPS only
2. Install the map data along with MapSource to the default location (C:)
3. Install the map data along with MapSource to a location *other than the C: drive*

Option 3 is very welcomed by myself since I have a small C: drive and always had to resort to "hacks" to simply get the maps onto the nuvi. To require 10+ GB of drive space on the C: drive to install a ~1.6 GB map onto the nuvi, despite the fact that I have hundreds of GB's on other drives in the system is (was) ridiculous.

Thank you to Garmin for finally addressing this issue.

This is a welcome improvement on the Mapsource installer. Since I have the previous maps and Mapsource currently on C: what would be the correct procedure to "move" it to a different drive as part of the 2010.30 upgrade?

I haven't tried it.
With the european 2010.20 version the previous version was deleted.

I had a 2010.10 NA on my pc as well, this was not deleted.
Will try at home with the 2010.20 NA map.
