Can the 1412 save a track of one's trip?

If so, can it save the track data for external use?
If not, can it output NMEA data as it works?

Or, under WinCE, can another "logging" application see the GPS data as it is provided to the Nav program.

Is the GPS data passed via a real hardware serial port, or a virtual comm port, or the GPSxx.exe program reading the chipset?

Edit: See the Hidden Menu below (accessed via MMLLML on the User Options top title bar).

If you can get into the 'Hidden Menu' from within Navigator, there may be an option to 'Record Vehicle Position'. On my Crossover and other Magellans, the HiddenMenu is launched by going into User Options and then tapping Middle-Middle-Left-Left-Middle-Left on the top window title.

Fantastic, THANKS!

This "Hidden Menu" offers:
1. Playback Vehicle Position
2. Record Vehicle Position
3. Simulator Mode
4. Setup Misc. System Flags
5. Disable WD
6. Launch MemCheck
7. Show / Hide Memory Status
8. Get Memory Status
9. System Messages
10. Turn Off GPS
11. Routing Analysis: OFF
12. Set Day Map Color Scheme
13. Software Versions
14. SD Card Serial
15. Resets Counter
16. Get Data Abort
17. Test Map Update Reminder
18. Exit Navigator

Anybody have experience using these?

The Exit works (in about 3 seconds), leaving a "System Settings" application/screen showing. Then, a "Return" from there appears to restart the Nav program after about 11 seconds.
The Really-Hidden Menu (from the System Settings screen) has an exit that appears to Quit this "System Settings" application, getting me back to my "Skin Changer" program, where I can touch a button to Run the Navigator program.

The Record Position creates "pvt" files. I will examine the contents later.

See http://www.gpspassion.com/FORUMSEN/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=126455 where I discuss these options for the Crossover. Your menu is a little different.
