Where does one get the standard, not-edited M-Tools?
It is not on my CD (has only the POI Editor), and I do not see it at the MagellanGps site.

Is the hex-edited version M-Tools difficult to find?
I have not found it, so maybe it has a different name?

I guess I can rename Navigator and substitute in a renamed Explorer or RegEdit?

Thanks for any suggestions, Gary

Not sure that Magellan Tools will work with your device, but you can try. Best I can find for now is http://www.gpshelp.org/toolsdown.html . This site has ISO images for burning to CD.

Hi

I have another question.

I want to try to use OziexplorerCE on the unlocked Crossover.
All on the SD-card.

Has anybody done this ?

What kind of prozessor does the Crossover have ?

OziExplorer wants to know this, since there are different versions of the software depending on the prozessor (ARM, MIPS or X86).

Thanks for your help

goletto - Ozi works well on the Crossover from SD card. The XOver(and most current GPS devices) uses an ARM processor. Be sure to download the OziExplorer for PNA.

DDG have you been able to get a sdhc card to run on a crossover? I really need access to a larger card. My 2gb is maxed out. Any suggestions?

Thanks for your help.

Hi

I have a 4 GB "Hispeed" SD Card ("no-name" product) in my XO, it works fine. I think you need one with a low transfer rate. "Hispeed" seems actually to be an indication of low speed and low transfer rate.
The new generations of SD-Cards, like SanDisk Ultra II, seem not work at all in the XO.
I have read in another forum that 4GB is the max.

Regards
goletto

P.S. The SD-Card I use is "Class 4"

Does the Crossover support SD and SDHC cards?
Those using a 4GB card said SD, not SDHC, right?

Garmin, MIO, Magellan, TomTom, Pharos, Nextar, etc.
Orange County, in Southern California

@JoMe

Worked OK on a Roadmate 2200T that was upgraded to a Crossover 2500T, but there was a non-specific "Syntax Error" message box during the install.

I'm curious, what actually happens during the "install"?

For example, are there any files copied to the flash on the GPS unit itself? If you do a hard reset (on/off), is there any trace of the unlock left on the unit? (seems not, as you have to "re-install" if you do that!)

Thanks!

You shouldn't worry about the syntax error. It is caused by a registry import file that contains some commenting. The program used to import these files apparently does not like comments, but the registry settings in the file are still copied just fine. I've been meaning to upload an update that fixes this, but haven't had the time

During install, a few files are copied to the device's flash memory (\Windows) to enable the WinCE shell (explorer) to run. Also, several registry files are imported to adjust some settings.

If you do a hard reset, there should be no trace that the unlock was ever installed. But (there is always a but), some of the programs you may have used could possibly have saved some files to the flash drive. Depending on where they were saved they could still be there after a hard reset.
