For all you that have the IGO2006SE / Cydle / NavNGo systems such as the Eiger Vision EV-4300N, AVE AV-4301, VRVD640G, and many others that have a resolution of 480x272 (normally 4.3" screen), I have created a new skin. It is called the MagicMan Skin. ScreenShot:
The skin has the following features: Moved a bunch of things around in the cockpit screen to be easier to read and give a wider view. added the speed limit / your speed sign and logic. Changed a bunch of buttons and colors to make viewing at night a lot easier on the eyes. Re-did the main menu screen to be night friendly. Added features: Touch the speed limit sign and see the closest one of each of the POIs you have selected such as gas station, etc and the distance and direction to them. If you press the poi, you can add it as a via point (if you have a valid route running) or navigate to it directly. Touching the direction arrow works the same as it always has. Touching the destination or current location bars will repeat the last spoken direction. Touching the top 3 fields will open the route menus (will change to other menus later) Added easy to the routing options (take the easiest / most direct route with the least turns, etc. Not always faster, just easier). Changed the distance POIs are showed up in to make them appear earlier in map view. Things that I am planning to add in the future: Changing the functions of the 3 top display boxes to each open a different menu. Add the option in sys.txt to move the 3 info boxes to the right side of the screen if desired. Add route to in all the POI views. Add a tab to the cockpit menu button "find & go" to let you select a new destination without going back to main menu (cockpit mode)
Usage (if you don't have access to Explorer on the device): Unzip the attached (magicmaninstall104.zip) file to the ROOT of an SD card. It should create a directory called__swup__ and have a file in the root called magicmanskin104.zip. Insert the Sd card in the face plate of your unit. Power up the unit (make sure the navigation software is NOT running), Click settings on the main page, then update (upper left, may have to tap it 2 times). The loader will show up on the screen. Just click OK when ready to copy. The skin will be copied to your device. Then click OK in the popup box and you are done. The program will have replaced your Cydle.zip skin in the igo/skin directory of the device.
Usage if you DO have access to explorer on the device (not recommended): Unzip the magicmaninstall and copy the skin in the archive to your igo/skin directory, replacing any other skin.
Please let me know what you all think about the skin and loader and any suggestions. I will also be putting up a loader to add other things and features like brand POI icons (exxon, shell icons, etc.), and freeing up some wasted memory to speed up the nav and loading.
The Skin download link (will be updated when a new version is done): Current Version is 1.04 as of 08/31/2009. http://www.filefactory.com/file/ah47aaa/n/magicmaninstall104_zip

I have one of those all in one chinese gps/dvd/radio/etc in dash units (Kruzr KSD7300BG) and it is running the Cydle Nav software. I would really like to try your new skin, but is there any way of saving the old one first? The nav software and maps seem to be on the built in (2gb) of flash and my sd slot for the nav is empty.. |

I am pretty sure U can use it, what version of Cydle are U using? As far as backup, I can put things ON the device, can't take things off (except delete). U CAN e-mail Cydle and they will e-mail U the software backup. |

| I am trying to load this skin onto my VRVD640G but I am having problems. Pretty sure I did everything you said in your first post. Copied the files to my SD card, I have a file called _swup_ and the magicmanskin104.zip I insert it into the SD card slot on the faceplate, go into settings and hit update but get a message saying can not complete because program is not available. |

You should have a directory in the root called __swup__ and an updater inside it.
Root: __swup__ magicmanskin
Make sure the SD is put in the slot in the face plate, not in the unit itself. Also, make sure the SD card is formatted FAT and less than 2 Gigs... Win mobile 5 limitation :) |

Hello,
I saw a post from gpspassion where you try to find out how Cydle is redirecting the sound.
In fact, I have a all-in-one buil-in car system navigation unit with Cydle iGO2006. The cydle is outdated so I decided to buy a legal iGO 8, it is working fine expect I do not get any voice guidance.
I guess the igopna.exe from Cydle is making some registry change in Win CE to get the sound. Were you able to find it? I saw something like KRS but I have really no clue?
I would really appreciate your finding
Regards S. |
