I've lashed out €70/£60 on the latest Mio C-Series Map Upgrade for Western Europe for my C320. It wasn't the most intuitive of upgrades nor were instructions the most accurate but I got there. I also have MioMore Desktop Ver 5.55.0107.45 installed on the PC
My initial response is a bit mixed. The system seems more responsive but then there is much less detail on the screen. The full 7 digit UK postcode has been reduced to 5, meaning the roadname has to be found or entered.
The maps are up to date (and about time) with route recalculation much improved.
Also the links in MioMore aren't working - http://eu.mio.com/en_gb/ and http://eu.mio.com/html/uk_en/index.htm are producing "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)" errors, probably because of the "Redesigned website offering faster, targeted services". See: http://www.mio.com/press-room-press-releases-3434.htm
Anyone else got it installed and can offer some tips, especially about personal POIs?
Cheers, John. |

Here's a view of it - very different from before.

Touching the top right ("14:24") produces a drop down with distance and time to destination, arrival time, current time and speed.
Links referred to above are now active - it must have been a temporary fault. |

this is kind of ugly. I have one question: does miopocket works anymore on c320 after "upgrade"? I mean does it starts from sd, like it used to with the old firmware? I consider it a "downgrade" but that is my opinion |

I don't know about installing MioPocket on the C320's new system. I'm not even sure what's removed, over-written or left untouched.
After a month or so's usage, I'm so disappointed with MioMap2009, I've complained strongly to Mio.
If any one can indicate how to add my own POIs (i.e. edit a .MAP file?) or enter a destination using Lat & Long, I'd be delighted. It was a piece of cake before the "upgrade".
Mio are about to lose a customer to ViaMichelin or Tomtom. |

yes you can easily install mio pocket on your device after upgrade & also you can upgarde or downgrade at the same time i.e from miomap 2009 to miomap 3.3 & vice versa. |

I've not managed to run it from the SD card - it defaults to the shell files on the internal flash drive.
The Mio upgrade DVD to MioMap2009 indicates that all previous data will be lost, and implies that rolling back is not possible.
However, if someone can tell me how to get the C320 booting procedure to look for a shell other than the Mio-modified NavMan, I'd be delighted.
I now wish I had never bought the so-called Upgrade to MioMap2009. |
