I acidentally deleted a file on my 850 that contains the voice recognition command find address. All other voice commands seem to be there.
If I purchase the latest map update for my 850, will i get this missing command back?
It tells me that there is no speech recognition support for this feature in the current language or selected location and that I need to use the touchscreen. Thanks for any help. |

| English. It doesn't matter what language it's using, it gives the same error no matter what I change it to. |

Have you tried running WebUpdater on your unit to see if it would maybe detect that the file was missing and reinstall it? It's worth a shot at least.
If that does not work and others here cannot help, Garmin surely would do so if you contact them. |

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried updater first thing. I'm hoping that Garmin can send me a link to download what I am missing so I don't have to send it in.
I had a map copied to an SD card and thought I was deleting from it. The missing file didn't end up in my recycle bin at all. |

What from Garmin\Asr did you delete? I can get you any but there is English_American.srd and loads of ASR files (my guess Automatic Speech Recognition) |

| As far as I remember, I deleted one or two files only from the Garmin folder. Nothing from garmin/asr. |

| In the ASR folder, I do have the English_American.srd file. I seriously doubt anything is missing from this folder as I said, I didn't touch the folder at all. |

hexonxonx,
The same thing has happened to me.
I don't remember deleting any files, but I am getting that same error message.
Have you resolved it yet ?
Have you been able to locate replacment srd, srx files ? |

| prazert, No I haven't. I phoned tech support and even they couldn't figure it out. I've been authorized to return it for an exchange since it is under warranty. |
