Hi Sorin I have no experience in this kind of uboot menu unlock as I prefere jtag unlock. The reason is that just recently had in hands 2 devices with entire nand erased (including bootloaders) as a consequence of playing with nand pins.
The ideea is that in order to force uboot menu by pin9 connected to ground at boot time, is better to have an sd card in the device, can be empty. There are cases when uboot menu doesn't pop up without an SD. Situation is the same after rewriting nboot-uboot via jtag to a completely "virgin" nand: uboot menu will show up only if at boot time it finds an sd card, otherwise nothing happens, black screen... |

Hi ablbd ! I posted twice by mistake ... can you explain to me how to use JTAG software? I have some knowledge in electronics and if any risk, I'll take it. B.R. Sorin |

powerslide, Now I am stuck with some things ... the question is: Do you want to continue with this research? It will take some time (because I have to build several firmwares versions until we get to the right firmware format ...) ... When you choose 0=WINCE Upgrade can you tell me the menu that come up after that? |

@sosoveritas
Technically there is no risk as I have the boot blocks for Moov330-N179 in both versions: 4KB/page nands (k9gag08) and 2KB/page nands (k9g4g08, k9g8g08, k9lag08). All you have to do is to dump one specific block (originally block 16) which is containing the LOCKEDUT string, edit that to UNLOCKED and rewrite the block into same place. Build (or buy) your wiggler and I'll help you with the software to acomplish this task.
BTW: do you have by chance a copy of "My Flash Disk" from your Moov330? |

And if i selected: 1= WINCE by SD/MMC Starting memory address test... Checksum: 0x322032f5 Writing CE image... BINFS img Write SplashCreen... Image Region Checksum: 0x322032f5 all test are over!! Upgrade OK. Restart your device.

powerslide, The results are a little confusing ... with Format you get Not enough memory and without Format => Upgrade OK. "But nothing happend usb doesn't work!" But do you see the orange screen? the new firmware starts? |

ablbd, "wiggler" is interface with ic 74HC244 , on the parallel port? If yes, I can made it. Do you have a schematic? I don't have a copy of "My Flash Disk" from my Moov330, because it came with orange screen and no usb connection. Sorin |

I would like to check the spare area written by hjtag. Download http://www.4shared.com/file/cpEtvqR-/SJF2443.html and run k9gag08 option, then option 0 (dump); starting block: 0, number of blocks:2 I don't recommend to flash with it because it composes differently the ECC into spare area as was my model. Upload somewhere the 2 bin's (block_0_1 and oob_0_1).
Sorry for long answer.. At last I'v found LPT again :) Here is files, i'v got from my GPS. Please examine them.. http://www.4shared.com/file/C00mcTPj/Block_0_1.html? http://www.4shared.com/file/5JpcTdx0/OOB_0_1.html? |

@Sorin Yes, build a buffered one. Yoy won't need RST so better skip that part. IC can be powered (+Vcc) either on device's jtag or from a separate 3,3V supply.
@TeXniKK Thanks alot. The point is that although 2450 is able to generate and to handle 8bit ECC, spare area you sent has 4bit ECC: 16 bytes/page, 2 x 16 bytes for spare area, followed by 20 byte control pattern (repeated all over). Meantime I got a Moov330 dump (2443 CPU, k9gag08 nand) and the last 20 bytes were all FF... |

Hello,
I have a Mio Moov 500 and it stopped working. The GPS was getting to the orange screen and that was about it. Nothing else was happening. I read the forums and found out about the pin 9 workaround and started to fix the GPS. The problem that i have is that i dont see any WinCE upgrade option on my blue screen. All i see on the screen is as follows:
Cobia T550R2_R03_1212 RAM64 MLC 2C
0=Base & Region CE Upgrade 1=GPS Tools 2=BT Tools 3=Base CE Upgrade 4=UBOOT Upgrade 5=Memory Tools 6=Other Tools Choice: 0
I selected "3=Base CE Upgrade" and than "Base by SD/MMC" and I see the following at the bottom of the screen:
Waiting!! buf[510]=0,buf[511]=0
Is there anything that need to do to get the right upgrade screen? Also can someone let me know exactly what firmware i need to download?
I appreciate any help I can get to fix this GPS.
Thanks. |
