It looks like that update added additional bin file. Now, should i rename the original back?

I never changed any files...so I'd think you'd want to change it back to the way it was...

@bratvas

If you renamed the original, it was updated by WebUpdater because it didn't recognize that the file was there due to the rename.

Compare the file size in bytes. Are they the same? They likely are the same since the GPS Chipset was NOT updated, only the firmware. You can keep the new file and delete the old. Either way will be fine if they are the same files...one is just renamed.

I recovered my Nüvi 775 from death disconnecting the battery.

Just watch the video:

It´s very, very simple....

I made the update to version 3.60 and now my unit is fine.

Never experienced a problem with mine. I had v3.5 in my unit and not v3.4, I do not know if I needed to update or not but I did the update to stay on the safe side. Hope I did not create a problem by updating. We shall see. I plan on a 2100 mile trip next week and will be relying on my new Nuvi 765T.

The web update went cleanly. It took a long time to acquire satellites. It scared me a bit. Seems to be working. I'll feel more sure in an hour.

v3.5 is likely an internal Garmin firmware, not publicly available. Looks like this version did not have the same issue as v3.4. you got lucky.

SergZak, that could be if the fix is 3.6 there should have been a 3.5 somewhere. If so, why not make that one public if it is stable?

It's not the first time Garmin ship units witn a "non-public" build before making it public, or not...maybe they figured it had a problem that needed to be fixed too so did that in v3.60, doesn't really matter at the end of the day ;-)

So Garmin aren't saying much are they...you'd hope they've done more than fix the loop as renaming fixed that but not the loss of fix and potential "deaths" in some cases...no mention of "HotFix" being deactivated, but if it fixes the problem that's the main thing.

* Corrected issue that prevented delay from being shown for certain types of traffic events.
* Corrected issue with incorrect MSN Direct flight times being displayed.
* Corrected issue where audio prompts might be lost after removing unit from the mount.
* Enabled Low Battery warning.

I know it doesn't sound like much of a description of the problem. But, if it solves the problem, do we care what all was involved? Hopefully, we're all in better shape than a day or two ago.

I have a one-week old 755t, with version 3.4 software. I tried it this morning and it worked fine. Should I update it anyway or should I just wait and see?

Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.

For the sake of experimenting I guess you could wait and keep us posted, but if you need your GPS, you should update ASAP !
