I have a Nuvi 760 (wonderful device) and considering purchasing a Blackberry. I understand that Garmin has a Nuvi-ish app that requires a network connection to download maps.

The BB Storm can accommodate a 16GB flash card: plenty of room for MAPS. Is it possible to use preloaded maps? I wonder if they use the same maps as those found in Nuvis.

I pose this question because I would be nice to not have to bring the Nuvi on travel, but I don't want to rely on the network. Any constructive insight is appreciated.

As far as I know you can only do off-board navigation on a blackberry, besides using the GPS chip of smartphones drastically reduces their battery life, you'll be better off slipping your 760 in your coat pocket.
