Under the nu-Maps Guarantee I am entitled to one free map update. I must download and update the maps in my nuvi on, or before May 20 2009.
The currently available map update is v9.1. I believe the new Garmin policy is to update maps 4 times per year. I think the v9.1 is representing the first quarter of 2009. The second quarter update will be v9.2. My question is: when this update will be available?
Should I update now with v9.1, or wait till May 20 2009 and hopefuly the v9.2 will be out by that time?
Are the North American and European maps updated the same time?
Your help would be appreciated. |

No one really knows for sure but if Garmin sticks with quarterly updates as planned, a new map update should be out sometime in April.
What maps are you using that are numbered as v9.1? The current version of City Navigator NA NT is v2009.11. |

Thanks for your quick replay Zak,
My 775T came with CN NA NT 2009 and CN Europe NT 2009.
Now the v9.1 are shown as available free updates for both maps.
I could update to v9.1 now, or wait till the deadline of my free updates (May 20 2009) hoping that the v9.2 will be announced by then. |

Backstory: I registered my 765T the other day; 2009.1 shows as the upgrade that's available. I called and asked about 2009.11; the tech said that for some reason 2009.1 sometimes shows up but that 2009.11 is what actually gets downloaded (he couldn't explain why, but it's apparently a known bug on their end because he was very quick with the answer). HOWEVER, he then said, "Since you just registered it, I'd wait about eight or nine more days, there will be a new map version coming out."

How do I Get Lane assist in Scandinavia on my nüvi 705-series?
Garmin releases in early April, an update to City Navigator Europe card that contains "Lane-assist" pictures of the North.
Customers who bought a 705-series nüvi Nordic can purchase this update free of charge, by registering the device on my.garmin.com within 15/4-2009. Then the card download the latest 1/6-2009.
After functioning Lane assist as the rest of Europe.
