I have a c550, isn't picking up any satellites. I tried just 2 strands of wire in the external antenna port, still nothing.

thinking my sirf firmware got messed up somehow? either way I was thinking of trying to reflash it, has anybody done this before using sirfflash or sirfdemo? I tried via usb and the rs232 to usb software never worked properly. do you have to use a bluetooth dongle?

currently running
c550 software 6.60
gps software 3.00
sirf GSW3.2.5Garmin_3.3.01.06-SDK001P1.00

webupdate has ruined my gps so far, I also have a copy of sirf firmware 3.2.4 and 3.2.2

x2.

mine started doing this three weeks ago. When it eventually found satellites, the unit was routing from my home, over two hours away. I tried updating the firmware but to no avail.

yeah I found a solution. throw it on ebay as-is for $10

amazingly somebody bought it. once your sirf firmware gets screwed up there's no fixing it. it would take a newer flash version to even have a chance.
