For what it's worth, I used to think that any "b" chipset software meant "bravo," but noooooooooooooo.

All three of my nuvis (260, 205, 260W (new version)) have a "b" suffix in the About screen's "GPS SW Version" field, but only the 260 accepted the 3.10 upgrade. The 205 and 260W were not offered an upgrade from Webupdater; both of these remain at "2.55b."

The different "B" chipsets are documented at the link that gpspassion provided in his post above.

No, STMicro Teseo -> http://www.gpspassion.com/fr/articles.asp?id=259 what we used to think was the bravo/Garmin chipset during the summer of 2007.

The link referred to above is quite helpful. I think I now know what chipsets are inside my nuvis.

I would only add a minor clarification, in bold below, because the 260 model, being now at v3.10b, qualifies to be included in this section:

# ST Micro Teseo (type B ?): Latest firmware version : FW v3.10b - 01/2009

1. nüvi 2x0 : some nüvi 200/250/260 models, codename "bravo"

Nuvis 260 (original) and 260W (2009 version)
