For what it's worth, I used to think that any "b" chipset software meant "bravo," but noooooooooooooo.
All three of my nuvis (260, 205, 260W (new version)) have a "b" suffix in the About screen's "GPS SW Version" field, but only the 260 accepted the 3.10 upgrade. The 205 and 260W were not offered an upgrade from Webupdater; both of these remain at "2.55b." |

The link referred to above is quite helpful. I think I now know what chipsets are inside my nuvis.
I would only add a minor clarification, in bold below, because the 260 model, being now at v3.10b, qualifies to be included in this section:
