It had to be. Updated my 1490T yesterday from 2010.10 to 2010.20 and today 2010.30 is available. Just my luck!

My wife and I are planning a multi-state trip southward in a few weeks, so I decided to finally bite the bullet and buy a "lifetime" update for my 760, figuring even if the GPS only "lasts" through a few more updates, I'm still ahead in the deal.

I paid $96 at Amazon and there were a few minor glitches, but it's downloading right now from myGarmin. At Amazon, after putting in my credit card info, I got an error saying "something" went wrong and they were working to fix it ASAP. I checked my online banking site and my credit card was charged, but no activation code was ever provided. Uh-oh. Amazon said to go into my order history to find the code. No record of the order. Bigger uh-oh. Luckily, prior to panicking I noticed a separate button to review "digital orders," and after jumping through a few security hoops was able to get the code.

Once I start using 2010.30 I'll jump in on the other topic if I notice any noteworthy changes.

I got the Lifetime for my old 360 for $79 back at Christmas. Wish I had gotten it for my 1490T. I'm checking constantly to see if it goes back on sale again. The 1490T is up-to-date for now.

My habit has been to buy new maps roughly every other year, back when annual updates were the only game in town. And with my 760 being an older model now, I figured I'd wait until or unless a newer GPS caught my eye to buy new maps.

But planning for this trip reminded me that having "2009" maps may not be the best technique when venturing far from home. So I took the plunge at a slight discount and yes, missed out on bigger savings. Still worth it IMHO.

I bought the lifetime at full price when it was first available, and so far have gotten 4 new map sets for my 2720. I think I made the right decision for me. As long as they keep supporting my 2720, I see no need to buy a newer unit.

Garmin SP2720/7.20 Firmware/GTM-12 (5.50)/CNNA NT 2012.30 (Lifetime)

The price for the LifeTime updates fluctuate on Amazon.
Fortunately, I caught the $79 price just before Xmas.
Now I see it is back at $95, still not a bad deal.

So do nuMap "One-Time" and "Lifetime" come out at the same time? or does one lag the other?

thanks for confirming.

Is the Lifetime map the same for all devices? ... meaning the detailed, embeded stuff like POIs, lane assist, reality view, speed limit, street flow(?), etc ... or does it vary by the device you own?

I think the source files are the same, but some features (Junction View, 3d buildings, etc) only get loaded on devices that can support them.

I have an Old 2720, so just get basic stuff.
