Edited by GpsPasSion 20081126 : You can read an an excellent and detailed review/comparison by SpeedPedal on page 30.

Edited by GpsPasSion 20081113 : 3D buildings and curve warner in action on the Euro 7210T version :

This one shouldn't be too hard to identify :

And another easy one, make sure you count the exits on the small static arrow !

To follow up on a previous discussion here is the "Curve Warner" of the Euro edition in action :

Edited by GpsPasSion 20081017 : the 7200t is now available and we have some first user reviews : comments by RocketNJ and pictures by wold 1306.
Routing seems to be vastly improved, no more odd routes so far as on the 7100 or 2100 and the interface is very responsive, some Bluetooth issues though.

Edited by Paulkbiba on September 24, 2008
Last Thursday I attended Pepcom in New York where Navigon was showing the 7200T. They have refined the software to make it faster and take less steps to get things done. Here is a shot of the address entry screen, which is much easier to use then earlier screens

Here is a shot of their new Landmark View 3D

It will be interesting to compare their Landmark view with the building views in OCN 8 and on the HP 310.

Here's a shot of the unit along side of the new 2200T. Given the list price of the 2200T at $229, it looks as if Navigon is setting up to be the one to beat for the Christmas shopping season.

Navigon sent me the press release relating to their new unit. It looks pretty interesting. Here is the "features" part of the release. They also sent a WMA of the new Landmark 3D view. They said the WMA is lower resolution than the actual unit. Here is the link. http://www.gpspassion.com/upload/NAVIGON.wmv

The NAVIGON 7200T features include:
• Free Real-Time Traffic Updates for Life. Real-time traffic updates allow routing around
congestion by including traffic flow, incidents and alternate routes and works for the lifetime
of the product right out of the box without any registration processes, fees or additional
hardware.
• Voice Destination Entry. Advanced voice recognition allows drivers to specify their
destination by simply speaking the address. NAVIGON’s distrinctive inconic interface
guides the users through the process.
• Landmark View 3D. The NAVIGON 7200T brings a new dimension to the map with
hundreds of richly-textured 3D landmarks across the U.S. and Canada like the Empire
State Building and the White House.
• Reality View Pro™. Never miss an exit again with the next generation of Reality View –
Page 2
providing more coverage in more places. Reality View Pro displays photo-realistic 3D
views with actual road signs and lane guidance for virtually every highway interchange and
exit drivers will encounter.
• Lane Assistant Pro™. Helps drivers prepare to make an upcoming exit or turn by
providing clear visual lane guidance. NAVIGON’s second generation of Lane Assistant
provides a lane map complete with arrows and actual road geometry.
• Flat-Panel Design. NAVIGON is not only committed to designing products that are
appealing to the eye, but are also designed to make navigating the device simple and
effortless. The NAVIGON 7200T sports an innovative, frameless touchscreen. The
responsive Flat-Panel Touchscreen adds to the sleek and elegant exterior of the 7200T.
• Fewer clicks to get you there. The latest generation of NAVIGON software makes
entering and finding information fast and simple with, on average, fewer clicks than any
competitor product. NAVIGON’s SmartSpeller feature helps guiding through the entry
process.
• Go Hands-Free. The integrated Bluetooth® feature helps keeping both hands on the
wheel while still staying connected. The NAVIGON 7200T acts like a Bluetooth
speakerphone to hold conversations without all the distractions, plus your contacts are
download automatically for one-touch calling.
• Advanced Text-to-speech. Spoken Directions with Street Names lets drivers keep their
hands on the wheel and eyes on the road with advanced phonetic text-to-speech
technology to ensure proper pronunciation of streets.
• Zagat® Ratings and Reviews. Shows where to wine, dine, and unwind with a built-in
ZAGAT guide sheparding users to restaurants, hotels, nightclubs, attractions and golf
courses. With millions of standard points-of-interest and branded icons onboard users
always have a gas station, restaurant or golf course at their finger tips.
• DirectHelp™. Help is a click away with this DirectHelp, providing instant driving directions
to and contact information for nearby hospitals, police stations, roadside assistance, and
pharmacies.
• Exit Guide. NAVIGON’s Exit Guide enables users to search upcoming exits for one of six
POI categories – food, gas, lodging, rest areas, auto service or shopping. And, with one
click, the NAVIGON 7200T navigates there.
• Faster. Faster. Faster. NAVIGON’s new software gets to the right route in less time. Our
new platform delivers our most responsive interface to date with dramatically improved
route calculation times to get directions more quickly.
• Instant Fix GPS. With NAVIGON’s new Instant Fix GPS receiver (SIRF InstantFixII
Receiver), the NAVIGON 7200T triangulates global position in a matter of seconds and
improves performance in urban canyons and areas with tall trees.
• Favorites as POI: Shows stored addresses with name on the map marked with flags.

The unit is supposed to hit stores in October and list for $449.

From Navigon:
Hamburg, 8th of July 2008 -. . . minimalist design of the new NAVIGON 7210: fewer frills, instead very straightforward, extremely slim and 'apparently' no frame. . . a winner of the internationally acclaimed red dot design award. . . will be available from September 2008.

The new NAVIGON 7210 combines the popular functionalities of the current product family with . . . reliable Voice Recognition Pro, Reality View Pro and Lane Assistant Pro, plus the brand new Landmark View3D, Emergency Help and Favourites on the Map features. "To make orientation in urban areas even easier, the Lane Assistant shows you the perfect lane on screen before you turn off at large crossroads. With Landmark View3D, distinctive points of interest - such as architectural or historic sights - are now displayed on the maps in the form of realistic 3D representations. . .This aids orientation in not one but two ways - and that right across Europe." Beyond the city limits, Reality View Pro provides a clearer overview: Before complicated motorway junctions, the new NAVIGON 7210 shows drivers the right way to the correct exit. The course of the road, motorway signs and exits are visualised in a photo-realistic manner on the display. The new "Emergency Help" functionality indicates the vehicle's current location and helps find useful points of contact such as hospitals, police stations, petrol stations or pharmacies. These destinations can be accessed through the menu, displayed on the map and integrated into the navigation at the touch of a button. Additional information, such as a telephone number, is also displayed, and can conveniently be dialled via the Bluetooth hands-free kit.

Voice Recognition Pro . . . allows you to enter destinations at the touch of a single button, and new individual special destination options round off the comprehensive package . . . In addition to the over two million existing special destinations, you can now also save your own special destinations and add them to the map. . .

Inside the NAVIGON 7210, a high-powered 600 MHz processor, 64 MB of internal memory and 2 GB of flash memory. . . brilliant 4.3 inch SmartDisplay in 16:9 format. A powerful lithium-ion rechargeable battery (1.600 mAh). . . the car charger with integrated TMC antenna provides new energy."

"Registering within 30 days of purchase guarantees a special rebate of 80 percent on the price of 99 euros for the very latest maps for 24 months. A new update from the NAVTEQ experts, including new roads, house numbers and special destinations, is available to download every three months. The new NAVIGON 7210 comes with maps of 40 European countries, and will be available from September priced at 349 euros."

Wish I knew that too. Says coming this fall but that could mean September.

I did not see anything about traffic service included in the earlier post.

I found this news when searching for info on the 7200

I saw that but didn't the 2100 have that too but you had to pay the subscription in order to get the service?

After it's released, two years later they might fix all the bugs. I wouldn't jump on it the first year.

I wonder if the hardware is compatible with the 7100. Will a 7100 SD card work on a 7200, and vise-versa.

It looks like it has MN7 like the European 8100. I have seen some 8100 videos and the screen refresh seems very slow at times, I hope the 7200 is better.

If it is using MN7 I am not sure the the maps on the card could be switched but the SD card istelf would work for sure.

Thanks for posting Paul

I wonder if this unit will have the same mount as the 8100 will where the wires connect to the mounting bracket from the back?

By the way, do you think this new 3d maps and land marks will be available for the 7100 via fresh maps in the future as well as MN7?
