I have tried to install MioPocket 2.0 in Flash Memory on mine mio moov 200 and I have made something incorrectly. Now at inclusion it asks what to start MioMap or MioPocket. At any choice it hangs. On a computer I it do not see as USB the device.
Please, help me to restore device. |

| You should be hooking it up to USB before pressing the MioMap button (in other words, boot, wait for the menu, hoot up to USB). Is that what you're doing? If so, try hooking it up to a different computer (especially to a Windows computer if yours isn't one). |

| I have tried this solution on several machines but to no avail! If the swich is set to "reset" - the divice begins to charge. If the switch is set to "off" or "on" the menu loads without USB :( . If i select Miomap the device simplu hangs, and if i select MioPOcket - the installation launches and on Importing registry files i get the 0(112) error and other errors as well. And if i press 'OK' several times the device reloads and hangs completly :( |

| Hard reset (or completely shutdown and turn on) your device and try USB then. I can't see any reason why USB would not work after hard reset. |

| I'm not sure for your device. Just completely shut the device down, instead. For other Mios, you do that by holding down the power button for at least 5 seconds (and then holding it down for another 5 seconds to turn the unit back on). Try that, then once it's done booting (and before you touch anything), connect it to USB. |

It looks like the device has no hard reset option. The existing "reset" switch position - has no clear meaning.
Could someone give me the boot rom image for Mio moov 200? |

did you manage to access your moov 200 and to solve the problem?
I had the same problem and i managed to resolve it. Can you open the back cover of the device? It has two little screws. Connect the device to the computer with the usb cable and short 2 of the 4 pins of the power switch at the upper side of the device with the switch set to off. You can do this with a screwdriver for example. |

| sorry, the power switch must be set to on and you must short the 2 pins oposite to the position of the switch when it is on (the switch has 4 pins as i remember) |

Soory to bring back this topic but i need HELP!!
I got mio moov 200 and it is booting with screen showingMioMap 2008 and there hangs infinite...
Not detected by PC smotimes as USB MAS STORAGE with code 10 error device canot start
If i use all other methods listed here best i get is to be with out error for 1 min but ot showed as device in My Coputer...
I tried everything icludig removal and battery drain and shoring pins , fast switching of on reset .. I AM desperat.
Can some one tell me can it bi reflashed totaly???

me too. i have the device modify wrongly. i try the on-off method still can't get to connect to pc. any help please? or any where can i get the rom to reinstall?

I have the same problem here guys... tried everything:
- Boot from Flash drive
- Reset
- Hard Reset (shortening the two pins while device open)
- On/Off/Reset like 50 times
Sometimes when device discharged you can get the USB Device under windows but with error code 10.
The Idea is that when getting it in windows try to flash his ROM with the default image..
Don't know if anybody tried it yet... waiting for an answer
Anybody had some luck finding the solution? |

hello everybody
I hope you will understand my explanations:
I have one mio moov 200. I've tried to install igo8.3 on it.
First, I renamed the original folder with miomap on the flash to "Program Files\MioMap_bk"
I've created a new folder with igo8 and with the name "Program Files\MioMap". Also the name of the executable file from igo i've changed form "igo8.exe" to "AppStartupSec.exe".
After the restart of moov 200 the device freezes with the splash screen of igo8.
Even if the device was connected with the PC, the PC couldn't access the flash on the navigator.
I've searched on different forums and didn't find any clear information about how to reset the software.
The DVD from the box had no utilities for recovery of mio moov200.
I've tried different softwares from different sites, still no success.
I tried to disconnect the internal battery, and after a few minutes , connected back and start the device, with the USB cable connected, the PC still not find the device.
Here I've read something about shortening of two pins, but the procedure wasn't so clear.
I opened the case (there are 2 little screws). I saw the switch on the top of device (the switch for RESET/OFF/ON). There are 4 pins (space between pins 3 and 4 is more than space between pins 1 and 2 , or 3 and 4) With the USB cable connected to PC, the switch on the position OFF, I've shortened pins 1 and 2 using a coin of 50 Cents, nothing changed. probably by mistake I shortened also the pins 2 and 3 (those distanced) and after a few seconds , the PC found a new Hardware. I've waited for a few seconds, the flash of moov200 received a letter in my computer, I've renamed the folder with IGO and than restored the original name for the folder with the GOOD miomap. After disconnecting the cable, the device loaded again the original software from the flash memory.

I have the same problem with my Mio N179 I tried everything to restore the device but untill now nothing so I will try to solve the problem with stupid Mio (with the usb pins), I am starting now and I HOPE that it will be the same as yours (Mio 200)
