| I have a corrupt clm.nvm file that is half a gig in size. I understand that it should only be 80kb. Is it okay to delete this file and run webupdate again to recreate it? |

| I'm pretty sure it gets regenerated by the nuvi if it's not there. Back up your current file somewhere on your PC (just in case) and then delete it from the nuvi. Then safely remove the nuvi from the PC and power it up. If all seems fine, plug it back into the PC and see if the file got regenerated. If not, copy your backup file back to the nuvi...and report back. |

I just tested deleting clm.nvm from the nuvi and upon the next power cycle, the nuvi OS -does- regenerate it. You do not need to run Webupdater either. |

I don't know the purpose of the file. One clue though seems to be the file extension "nvm". For some reason, seeing those three letters in that sequence makes me think non-volatile memory...maybe a backup file of some sort. Of course, I could be WAY off base here.  |

Hey, it worked! I couldn't get the "Safely remove hardware" to remove the Garmin drive so I shut down windows and removed the laptop battery as a precaution and then disconnected the USB cord.
It now shows the file size as only 79.9kb. And I've 700M of space. Have a trip to Europe so maybe I can load European maps on it as well like a 770.
