I have cleanly installed the latest versions of POI Loader, Webupdater and Mapsource. The first two work just fine, but Mapsource won't open - says "no Mapsource product installed".
I have also d/l the US mapupdate and that went smooth - my 750 shows the latest maps.
Why can't I use Mapsource?
Had Nüvi 270 and now 750 in '05 Explorer, with 16GB PQI SDHC card cont. MP3's and additional maps & custom POI's.

When you say "latest version" of MapSource, do you mean that you downloaded the updater and ran it to update an existing installation of MapSource on your computer? The updater requires an existing copy of MapSource.

I d/l "MapSource_6137.exe".
Had Nüvi 270 and now 750 in '05 Explorer, with 16GB PQI SDHC card cont. MP3's and additional maps & custom POI's.

You can get MapSource without the maps for free by downloading the Garmin Training Center and updating the MapSource version.

Step 1:
Download and Install "Garmin Training Center"

Step 2:
Download and Install the latest Mapsource Update
http://www8.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=209

Note Many people have gotten MapSource for free from Garmin by politely asking and stating that they wish to use it to manage their favorites.

That's the updater. As others have noted, there are ways to use it, but not by itself.

Thanks Everyone. Followed TheTicks instructions and now it works.

It used to work with my 270, but I probably screwed something up on the recent reinstall.

I'll play with it tonight and see how it goes.
