I got stacked with the strange problem. I was trying to unlock my newly bought unit and to delete orifinal files from the flash disk I decide to make a format. After a hard reset I saw the warning that there is no enough memory. Then I noticed that my MIO C520 I cannot see the flash disk (DSK1 only ROM and DSK2(storage card). But the folder /My Flash Disk is still exist but has about 20MB instead of 1GB.
The unit is still functional because the storage card with unlock files.
Do you have any ideas except to go back to the store and ask to chenge the unit
Thank you in advance

| You need to re-format it with the tool that comes with WinCE. It's in Control Panel and it's named "Storage Manager." Of course, you need to have your unit unlocked in order to access Control Panel. After you format it, you'll of course need to get out the disc that came with your unit and install the files back to \My Flash Disk that you wiped out when you formatted the first time (unless you have no interest in using MioMap or some of the other included utilities). |

Thank you, Osprey
But it doesnt solve my problem, because I cannot see DSK1: from the Storage Manager, only DSK2: (Storage Card) and SMFlash Samsung Flash.
I have been told that probably the registry key of DSK1's partition was lost. |

| No, that's impossible. The registry settings that came with the device are loaded from a read-only chip on every cold boot. It's not possible to "lose" one of those settings. You have hard reset or shut down the device since having this problem, right? If not, do that and then run Storage Manager. |

Hey Osprey,
I feel stupid to say that but it is possible. I will attach a screen shoot later but in my storage manager I see only this:
SMFlash Samsung Flash 22Mb DSK2: Sd Memory Card
when I do a hard reset I get a warning:
Memory is insufficient. Please remove some files or programs, and then run again.
So I cannot run anything of MIO's function (file manager says that 0Mb is available) untill I activate Audio service. Then 3Mb is back and I can see it in the MIO's file manager.
Moreover when I insert a storage card with unlock, in explorer I can see that /My Flash Disk has a folder icon and defined as a folder as well

Hi, I'm into same problem as prostoM. I tried to reinstall MIO software, it worked, but after reboot the screen showed "Memory is insufficient. Please remove some files or programs". Along with this error, I can no longer install Miomap and I can't update the firmware either. I have to mention that DSK1 is missing on my device too! USB mode changed too... no I can ony see the storage card, but the mobile device dissapeared completely!
prostoM did you fix yours?
Osprey, do you have any idea how to reflash the unit? |

TO ntldr,
I have been told by MIO support that you have no much to do and you need to send the unit to MIO repair. Otherwise you can ask your dealer to change it or to ask for your money back even. |

@Everyone You should copy all (or as much as you can)the contents of \My Flash Disk\ to your storage card. Then, try to delete as many files as possible on \My Flash Disk. After a hard reset, and you shouldn't get the mem error. Then unlock your unit using MioPocket. Then go to storage manager and DSK1 should be there, so you format it (takes about 30 min or so, so make sure your battery is charged). Restore you Miomap software using the recovery DVD. your Mio should now be fixed and returned to normal state. If you had data you need in \My Flash Disk\, used the files you backed up on your storage card. This should fix your mio. |

Well, "my flash disk" appears to be only 3,7Mb and there is nothing i need. There are just some files automatically generated by device. If i do hard reset, the device is giving a error telling me that i need more storage. As i can see now the "my flash disk" is just a directory on the device and can not access it when i connect to computer. |

| Have you tried deleting files through you device directly, using MioPocket? |
