EDIT 30 Apr 2008: For everyone that needs a different storage location! There a 4 possible storage locations right after each other in interface.plg. The 480 and 320 versions are the same for this. Edit the interface.plg. I use xvi32 (google). -Press Ctrl+F -text search with unicode checked: flash disk -click OK button -there you have the first storage location in unicode -overwrite in the right text pane the letters (only letters) -you cannot make them longer than the next \ minus the preceding 00 00 00 (Do not overwrite the 00 inbetween the letters, a space is 20 hex) -close your string with at least 00 00 00 (you must switch to the left hex pane to do that) !!! do not change the total number of bytes of the file. !!! so only overwrite existing letters. don´t use the DEL key.
Save your interface.plg and copy it to your shinco player folder. EDIT 28 apr 08: added new 480x272 version. Both now searches for media in "Flash Disk", "My Flash Disk", "Storage Card" and "SDMMC Card". It looks like shinco uses tcpmp 0.66 style registry model. EDIT 27 apr 08: added 320x240 version, added proper gx.dll to both packages, added HKLM\Software\MediaPlayer\EQUA settings in reg file.
With MP3 the album art file should be: cover.jpg, folder.jpg, front.jpg, coverart.jpg
Hi,
I ran into this little gem. It is based on TCPMP. Shinco has rewritten the interface plugin and has done a marvelous job. It is compatible with the standard TCPMP .plg plugins (so even flv flash files)

I have adapted some things in the interface.plg. - it now searches "Flash Disk" and "Storage Card" for media files - media file extensions searched are: audio: ogm, wma, mpc, mp3, wav, spx video: avi, divx, flv, mpg, mp4, wmv ogg, 3gp pic: jpg, jpeg
You will like it.
This version is intended for 480x272 resolution.
For playing flash (.flv) you need to tap on the screen for some reason before you get an image. Perhaps due to the flv plugin.
Happy to share Shinco TCPMP 480x272
This version is for 320x240 :O)

Shinco TCPMP 320x240
Modified for reading "Flash Disk" and "Storage Card".
Gapi (proper PNA gx.dll) included in both versions. Also I included a reg file for the equalizer.
Cheers
ps: paths can be changed in interface.plg (unicode strings), registry settings can be done like tcpmp.

I have two (system) volume buttons on my device.
But you can assign tcpmp functions to keys! (if you have some on your device anyway)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MediaPlayer\INTF
Dunno the exact numbers. Google knows..."Software\TCPMP\INTF"

Loads fine on my iPaq 310 however the memory card is listed as "SDMMC". Can you edit the interface file to look here as well?
Also, I'd like to help modify the interface to fit 800x480, is the skin information also hard coded? I can create all the graphics if needed.
Thanks! |

Hi,
Yes the skin is hard coded.
Here you go for SDMMC 480x272: interface_480_SDMMC Copy it over the existing interface.plg

How do you load this on the ipaq?
Do you just copy the shinco.exe file over to the Games folder and rename as tcpmp.exe, or do you need to copy over the whole folder as is or do you have to first execute it under Windows CE (Total Commander)?? |

Tweakradje - Thank you! It now shows the folders...however the fonts are missing so I can't see the folder names. I managed to peck around and get some audio working. now I just need to figure out whats going on with the font. Just an FYI: the two storage names on the iPaq 3xx are: ResidentFlash and SDMMC.
Finally, let me know if I can do anything to help make this program fit 800x480, as I can create the graphics if needed.
Infama -
For testing new apps, I just use a copy of Total Commander in my games folder. Once these bugs get worked out, I'll place it there permanently and create an icon.

Hi tweakradje! Can you edit the interface.plg of Shinco TCPMP 320x240 to read "SDMMC DISK"? Thanks |

I have updated the first post for editting the storage locations in interface.plg yourself.
@Pixeltwisters the executable is not hires aware I think. Or some font is missing. I cannot tell. It works on most regular PNA devices. To change the graphics and touch panel locations (button press) is almost impossible, it simply will take too much time to do it. There are no tools available other than IDA to change such locations. It is not a matter of simply editting bitmaps. Sorry.

I dont understand what you are saying. I want to install Shinco on the ipaq in the games folder and wanted more detailed instructions on how to do this. I already have Total Comm and TCPMP installed!
Do I just move the whole folder there, or just the executable? |

Ohh, ok! You are correct, create a folder called something like ShincoPlayer and place the files in there. I tried this, and it does work. However, since this player only displays at 480x272, its too small to be of use on our iPaq's IMHO.

diaz425, i really don´t know. I think the player was created for a device with volume buttons on it. Just like I have.
If you have unlocked your device you can use soundwidget.exe This works like the windows volume from the taskbar. Google for soundwidget
Or lets hope that Shinco builds it in the next version.
Or someone must find a way to get the old style menu bar back!
Cheers
