Oh, it may be that the SmartST_CE app needs to run first. Grab the second half of the code that larryc posted on the last page and add it to your script before the running of iGo.

Is it the part starting with

#Moov-only startup app......

you mean?

I've tested copying it to Auto.mscr but the device repeatedly reboots when iGO8 has started (correctly).

Hey all,
Does someone know what do I have to change in order to set volume level at 100 by default? It keeps going down after each hard reboot.

Everyone I know that has MioPocket and I have, in the past, struggled with the volume settings. Finally we realized that the speaker button in the minibar does not act like the speaker icon on a PC. The default action of the speaker button in MP is a mute button. We all expected it to act as to one on a PC, which is a volume control. If this is how you would like it to act, it can be changed in Settings/MioPocket Settings/minibar. I believe this will solve the problem of Your volume resetting to zero every time you cold boot.

Stormyknight: Do you get a byte offset (Console) screen come up when running TT TT V7.910.9185? The dimKa skin is terrific.

Do you have an init.txt in your MioAutoRun folder? If so, open it and copy and paste its contents for me. That'll give a clue as to what's going on at startup.

I need to make a correction regarding device startup.The device after
flashing procedure don't make reset but goes to the original menu.
No i don't have any init.txt in the MioAutoRun folder.

Thanks.

MeOnly,
Ok, it was probably because your registry backup file was missing or never created. Here's a new script that backs up the registry, itself, then deletes the keys. http://rapidshare.com/files/190359336/DeleteKeyboardSettings.mscr.html

QZGBT5,
It resets on you? What about if you erase those lines and just add these, instead?

SmartST = "\My Flash Disk\Program Files\Navman\SmartST_CE\SmartST_CE.exe"
Run(SmartST)
Sleep(2000)
Kill(SmartSTEXE)

Nortonko,
Thanks.

dcrane,
Thanks for explaining it. Yeah, I like the idea of the button doubling as a quick mute button, but realized that not all people may like that and made turning that off an option. For the record, though, the volume level is never lost after a hard reset. It's just that, when you have the button configured for the default behavior and you press it, the volume is muted and, so, that's what the volume control then displays. Maybe I'll add a first-run message to explain what's going on and how to change it, though, since a number of people have been confused by this.

katoss,
There's no init.txt because you're not using the latest version. Please upgrade to R38 so that I can better help you. Once you do, if you get the same behavior, try resetting the device, yourself, and, if that doesn't do anything, post the contents of init.txt for me.

larryc or any Moov tester (StormyKnight?),
Would you test this for me? It's the Moov SiRF-NMEA toggle script plus copies of AppLauncher.mscr, BeeLineGPS.mscr, PocketGPS.mscr and NoniGPSPlot.mscr that call the toggle script before launching the nav apps. I want to make sure that it works and that there are no issues with it before I include them in R39. Thanks. Oh, also, if it works, you may want to open up the toggle script and, down in the sub-routine at the bottom, test to see if we can get away with any smaller values for the Sleep command (like 1500, 1000 or 500).

Hi Osprey,

This script is working but needs some files

It gives an Error messages

'RegistryBackupHKCU.reg' could't be opened

Line 39 (\Storage Card\MioAutorun\Scripts\DeleteKeyBoardSettings.mscr):
regContentHKCU = ReadFile(exportFileHKCU,"unicode-prefix")

I searched for that RegistryBackupHKCU.reg but I couldn't see it in any folder!

@Osprey, the only issue I see, is that my Mio is always set to NMEA...even Mio 2008 is set at NMEA in its config file.....as such all my GPS programs work fine.....

What I can do though is manually change the setting to Sirf & then run BeeLine.mscr & confirm it has changed to NMEA....

I am sorry to say, the device resets before it starts iG08 (I tested with only these lines).

Actually, the minibar button is not the problem I am having with the volume.
After each hard reset, the volume level drops down to "19" (Checking it through Settings/Volume). I want to make this "100" by default, instead of setting it up manually each time.
I saw a note in MioPocket.ini that says : ";The last volume level that the user set with the volume utility. Don't bother changing here, as it'll be overwritten.
Volume=50". Where can I set it if not here?

@Osprey....the script seems to work in the the sense that it is changing the value in device.ini however I don't seem to be getting any 2 second delay when which I would expect....with the orange Mio Moov 2008 shown.....also if I run the script by itself without an argument I do not get the 5 second message, although the device.ini is changed...

UPDATE...
I remmed out the if statement 'If(mode eq "")' & the associated 'endif' so that I could see what the script was doing.....as I said before the device.ini is being changed...

However, I added a line in the 'Sub ApplyMoovGPSMode' to print to screen the exe it was going to run, i.e. SmartST_CE.exe

After that i get the orange screen & with a delay of 2 seconds it even comes up with the Eula message...

Unfortunately, even if I set the device.ini to Sirf, MioMap2008, Beeline & OziCE all open with the GPS still in NMEA mode...

It may have something to do with the other settings in my Device.ini such as....

Hmm hang on a minute....here is my device.ini from a backup...

[Default]
gps port open=true
gps port=COM2
gps baud rate=57600

min usb brightness=0
max usb brightness=100
BigMallocBound=2097152

[HWVersion=1025]
gps port=VSP1
gps use sirf clm=false

Notice I have no 'Device Settings'

perhaps thats why it doesn't work?

Cheers
