I would like to ask the community that have registered their devices with the Manufacturer - how good a job does the Manufacturer do in communicating with them the following.

The reason I would like to do this is as follows.
Magellan promoted the fact that registering would give you certain benefits besides warrenty. Such as
News, Promotional offerings and unit firmware updates/upgrades. These were to show up in either your "My Account" or via email should you make it known by turning on various fields under "Communication Preferences" My settingss below. -------------------------------------------------------------- Communications PreferencesI prefer to receive communications in English I want to receive email regarding product enhancements and software/firmware updates Yes I want to receive special offer information for new Magellan products and services via email Yes I want to participate in surveys and research projects that will enable the company to identify trends, product features, new products and other GPS-related issues Yes I want to participate in beta programs to test future products Yes ------------------------------------------------------------------
I am sure that other manufacturers provide simillar methods for those who register their products.
It would be interesting to see which Manufacturers actually follow through with their claims.
I see the main poll being in the General area with a link from each of the main forums to it.
