| The famous cable to flash the unit is actually a Prolific USB-to-UART serial IC in the molding on the USB-'A' end of the cable. Correct me if Im wrong. I have the cable via another device. Actually a mini gps datalogger: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8836 But dont have de TK102 and I dont have plans to buy it: because of the lack of support. But I want to collaborate with you people becuse buy something so undocumented is really irritating. And I know. |

I just read full article here and some members tells that this tracker have fake very unstable copy.

Hi People My name is John. I have two of these units hard hired into my motorbikes First one I installed and set up and work a treat. Second one done same as First one but upon setting up i done the initialization "begin123456" got the begin ok, Then changed password by sms "password123456 ******" got the password ok. Now cant login to unit it keeps say fail ?
Any one got any ideas on a work round, I have read all posts on here and there are a few conflicting answers mainly around Flashing the unit. Some say you need a board some say normal Micro to usb lead? Has any one done either and if so (I know some people say they have)can you give step by step instructions on how to do it (preferably with the usb option) also links if possible where items can be purchased and Software that has the USB 3 Drivers if this is what is needed. Have been on a few web sites and cant find much info on these units. Have downloaded gpspassion zip is this all the software needed? Any help woud be appreciated.

I am trying to configure the APN for my TK102 but I am getting APN FAIL!
I am sending the following SMS: APN123456 apnname.operator.com
My question is:
- where are the username and password suppose to be send?
- what is the correct SMS format?

mmmm, please search the forum, this question was answered many times before.
1. Your Firmware is the OLD one limitation in number of char for the APM to 12 if i remeber.
- Upgrade to the last Firmware, link is in the forum.
2. With this new firmware 2 new command to Send APN USERNAME and APN PASSWORD.

I bought the tracker mainly to set up a geofence so I would know
when someone leaves a certain area.
I tried all versions of the stockade command as follows :
- defining a 100 x 200 m area using google earth to find the
correct coordinates
- then i thought the area was too small so I increased it to
an area of 1 km x 1 km - i kept receiving sms that the border
was crossed while the device was sitting within the defined
area and was not moving
- then I thought the chinese manual must have been wrongly
translated from chinese to english and that you only can
define a "border" line instead of an area. If you cross
that line the sms alarm is sent. So I defined a line of
1 km long and stood west of it. Again the same sms every
2 minutes with the location
- trying to find an explanation I thought "it must be the opposite,
instead of defining an area for which you receive an sms alert
when this area is left, it must be that you can define an
area that you receive an sms alert when you ENTER it "
So I defined an area 10 kms from my house of 500 x 1000 m
and kept sitting in my house. Again the same sms alerts every
two minutes.
On my commands I recieve always the answer Stockade ok, so there
is no syntax error.
My conclusion is that the command stockade does NOT allow any
definition of geofencing. It only sends you an sms with location
regardless if you define the geo fence area around your house,
in Africa or on the Northpole.
If anyone ever was succesful in defining a geofence please revert.
Otherwise I will have to return this device to the company that sold
it to me
