As first reported by XxhaimBondxX, until the TMC woes are fixed, Navigon has suspended the download of Q4_2008 maps for now.

As a result, we have temporarily suspended downloads. We are confident that we will have this repaired quickly; we will notify you via email once this issue has been resolved. I was late getting Freshmaps and hence the map/program update for my 2100max, but I have to say that I'm 100% impressed with the new MN|7 software. It has fixed many little annoyances in MN|6.
Route calculation and route updates are much faster. Screen updates are faster, making it much smoother. Map dragging with your finger is not so jerky. Address entry faster, only giving you the available letters for the next position. Not trying to guess which number you are entering. My only complaint in this area would be when selecting a destination from your favorites list, it brings up the list first (starting at A) instead of the keyboard - you have to press the list button to get to the keyboard. More POIs shown on screen. Many more brand name POI icons. POI much more complete (at least in my area... original map was missing gas stations and restaurants that had existed for many years) Improved TTS street name pronunciation. Now includes speed limit information on primary streets, instead of just highways. Traffic alert button on screen only shows problems on route (more intuitive - complete list available via Options/Traffic) New traffic alerts turn the button red instead of bringing up a screen which requires a key press More reality view screens (although for general exits, this seems to be always a 2-lane highway) Night/day has an automatic setting that I don't think existed in MN|6.
I have yet to see the bizarre bug from MN|6 that, when starting out, after discovering my current position and calculating the route, it would insist that it doesn't have a satellite lock yet until I got to a specific point on my journey. This would always occur driving home from work where I join a highway, which then splits into 2. It wouldn't return from the satellite screen until I entered the split.

| I just bought a 2200T late last week with Q3 2008 maps. Are there any Q4 maps available yet or should I wait for Q1 2009 instead? |

Thinking about upgrading with Freshmaps but???
Right now I'm running MN6 with POI-Warner3.
I know that MN7 does disable POI-Warner3. I use POI-Warner3 because of Red Light and Speed cameras.
Can I still update the maps without going to MN7? |

| I updated my maps to Q4 for my 2100max two weeks ago. Noticed that the SD card still has MN6 files, not MN7, yet I have all the benefits cited by IndianaRed above. Do I still look into changing from MN6 to 7? |

| Well, you probably have both MN6 and MN7 on your SD card, but what's the point? |

| Anyone else have issues with connecting via fresh maps? I try to download the maps and I get a message that says something like can't connect to server, I never had this issue before and I keep getting this message for over two months now. So much for an easy map update process. |

| I just received an e-mail notification that the Quarter 1 updates for maps was now available for download from Navigon via the Fresh software. I was able to complete the download and install the maps on my SD card with no problems. In looking and the new stuff, I noticed they have quite a few more POIs but they still have some issues. When I tried to select a Shopping Center nearby, the list included several dozen 7-11 stores and several other small stores of that nature - definitely NOT shopping centers. I found that by selecting Optimum routing, I avoid some of the odd routing I was getting with the Fastest algorithm. So far, I am pretty pleased with the Map Update feature I paid for. They kept their promise. |
