As anyone done it using these tools?
I have a FSC Loox T830 with WM5 and I’m using Sirfdemo, GPS2blue, HW VSP and Sirfflash.
Tried with both Bluetooth and TCP/IP over Usb cable.
Current GPS firmware GSW 3.1.1 and want to upgrade to 3.2.2
Everything is working fine until I send binary command "94" to instruct the GPS to enter boot mode.
More details here by roher and me:

Can anyone help.
Tanks

Please repost the full information here, it's OT in the GPS2blue topic.
I would be extremely careful flashing the internal firmware of a GPS PDAPhone as it has most likely been customized, best way to kill it. What improvements are you anticipating from the update anyway ? |

Hi, roher,
I'm in the same situation as you but using Loox T830. seems like we are stuck... I have tried connection with USB cable and Bluetooth and noting worked. After the "94" command the loox and communications are dead and the only solution is a soft reset.
Have you discovered a solution ?? I would like to upgrade my GPS Firmware to 3.2.2 with InstantFix, backing up my current 3.1.1 first, just in case...
Is there any way to put these internal GPS's in Internal Boot Mode for connecting with SirfFlash??
Can anyone help out there, please.
Best regards. ppcjvc

Hello
I have installed GPS2Blue v1.8 on Loox N560 with Windows Mobile5 and .NET Compact Framework 2.0 sp2. The PC uses Windows XP. Using GPS2blue and HW VSP 2.5.10 I have been able to communicate Sirfdemo version 3.82 running on the PC with the GPS inside N560 thhrough an ActiveSync connection.
I have configured GPS2blue with using GPS=COM8, Speed=38400, then do the TCP/IP configuration at File>Remote TCP/IP settings... On Remote IP address tick Manual 169.254.2.2 (the IP address of the PC on the ActiveSync link obtained with Windows ipconfig) and Remote Port Number 31873.
It works even in Sirf mode, so I can send Sirf binary commands using "Action > Transmit serial message" inside Sirfdemo. For example sending "8400" Protocol wrapper=SiRF Binary it asks firmware version and it worked.
However if I try to send command "94" to instruct Sirf GPS to enter boot mode, the GPS2blue application freezes. After that GPS2blue no longer responds. After waiting one minute aprox I decided to do a soft reset.
¿is it possible to enter Sirf boot mode using gps2blue?

Basically I want to speed up the TTFF as most of the times I’m waiting more than 5 to 10 minutes until I get the First Fix.
I was able to install the QuickGPS program from the loox N560 GPS firmware upgrade package, and I’m downloading the Ephemeris file but with this firmware there is no improvement’s.
My fw is GSW3.1.1_H_3.1.00.07-C23P100a and I’m willing to upgrade to version GSW3.2.2_3.1.00.12-SDK003P1.
My Plan was to backup the current firmware, thus been able to roll back in case of problems, and then try to flash the newer version.

| I see, so you want to add SiRFInstantFix v1. Good idea, but I doubt it will work as you need a specially activated SIF firmware (has .ee generally) and I'm not aware that this firmware is available for download ? Maybe by extracting it from the N560 upgrade as well, and the actual flashing problem remains... |

I had the idea that all the 3.2.2xxx firmware was SiRFInstantFix v1. ready. this 3.2.2 version is from a Holux 326 Slim ( Holux V6 firmware ) and is supposed to ad SiRFInstantFix according to Holux.
