Hey, that's a very good news! I guess that's the end of the old nRoute :-)

Yes, nRoute really had an "odd" life, a "GPS'd" MapSource at first and then...well it pretty much went away !

Let's see what this can do, but I suspect (and I'm afraid) it may be so good that it just may kill all the other laptop GPS navigation applications.

Posted this over in the Nuvi release...

Big question that is on my mind is if the new Mobile PC version will work with the Mobile 10 and if Garmin will release the software end of it like they did for nRoute (Free for the download).
I love the Mobile 10, PDA, and XT combo.

I will be glad to see this face lift for the nRoute software.

I'm actually very excited for this product. I regrettably just purchased the Garmin Mobile 10. The Bluetooth receiver is great, but GUI of nRoute is horrible. I'll wait and see how it performs but so far the features sound great; text to speech voice prompts, and a 3D map view.

It seems like a nice piece of software.
According to the PDF, it has some advanced features that are missing from Garmin's AIO models.

My question is: can it run on a PDA?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt "Mobile PC" just the NUVI software with the extra navigation features from the SP series added back on?? That is what it sound like. I sure hope that is what it is, because if it is, once I install it on my OQO2 (UMPC), it's going to blow away all PND's out there! I will finally have the "NUVI" that Garmin will not release....one with all the SP functions!!!!!!!!! AND a beautiful screen and fast CPU to boot!
It's just a shame it will end of costing me 2 grand to get it all...ha!

Marvin. Yes, you are correct. I love the OQO2! It's a awesome little computer. I am going to love it even more as soon as the Mobile PC software is released by Garmin. Do you have any idea of the ETA in April that it will be available? I've heard around the 4th?

Just wondering, has anybody got a hold of a copy yet? If so, what have been your thoughts.

I'm expecting actually 2 copies of it, one coming from Garmin, and the other coming from TigerGPS. Estimated arrival of both is today, but a delay can happen at the border, since I'm in Canada.

Thanks for the first looks.

Now, I wonder if Garmin will release the Mobile PC part as separate download like nRoute was.
It looks like the cost for the software only version is equal to that of a yearly map update.

Hey Marvin.
I've been over to your review site and have noticed that you have not updated with anymore pics or review in a week or so??
Can you tell me your overall impressions of Mobile PC? Also, as you know, I have the OQO2 I am going to install it on which has a built-in keyboard. Do you think its gonna work out on that? The only thing that I wish I had on the OQO2 was a active touchscreen so I can take advantage of those buttons with my fingers. Having a passive screen, I would have to use a stylus. Therefore, I guess its just going to be easier using the keyboard shortcuts?? Any opinion now that you have played with it awhile. Last, does it seem to have all the customization, features of the Street Pilot series? I've had several NUVI's and I love them! I just hate that they removed most of the useful SP features and was hoping Mobile PC would correct the shortcomings of the NUVI??
Thanks
Shody
P.S. I ordered my bundle with the GPS 20x from TigerGPS. Still waiting for it to ship:(
