Hint (Blue MAGELLAN SCREEN), I don't believe he loaded the BL image properly. It's just my assumption.

I sounds like HDD issue I have experienced too. He needs to load bootloader using erase flash option.

So it appears you have not fixed your Format HDD issue. Did you follow the steps by tskitishvili? Please re-check ROM Cooking page 7. If you need SDHC support download the image from page 6.

The same images works fine on my device so it should on yours too.

Ok, first you need to get the Explorer/Desktop to run. The listed files by tskitishvili should do it except for the last one (zlib.dll) it can be 22528.

For Garmin, you need EXE Check and re-write the Lib name as it's not correct. It came with COREDL2.DLL but in Que.exe it says COREDLL.DLL. If you use the image with SDHC, I suggest to use that same COREDL_.DLL. I was able to have it partial launch but getting an exception error. I am going to change AYGSHEL2.dll to something else next.

Can you still go to bootloader menu ? If yes, there should be very high probability you will restore the unit.

After flashing bootloader GS499_BL_3.nb0, did you flash OS: GS499_MX_3.bin (stock image) or GS499_MX.bin (with SDHC)?

Still not working yet. I have noticed that running the Explorer along with SDHC supported image causes SD stop working until you perform a hard reset to clear Explorer. I suspect there is a conflict between the files used for the Explorer. I'm about to give up on Garmin MXT.

The how-to documents are coming soon. Stay tuned.

I am having trouble getting iGo8 to run on my 3225. Any tips and info that you can share would be very much appreciated.

I think it is safe to say that most of techniques that have been discovered and shared in the past few weeks do work across entire Magellan Maestro line (the one with blue background and pretty icons).

With that in mind, I believe it is time to change name of the thread to "Unlocking Magellan Maestro series". This way we can cover more ground and attract more enthusiasts to join in.

Bla Bla Bla, but what has been done so far? Here it goes.

Thread: This thread

SoftButton serves as a basic application and task manager component for Windows CE devices. It is especially suited for platforms lacking a system shell, keyboard, or hardware buttons.

This button is used to switch between Navigator.exe, TCPMP, FileManCE or any other app that you could be running on Maestro GPS device.

This is still BETA so any feedback posted here would be greatly appreciated.

Personalized splash screen
Moved the Map Files to a SD Card

Switched media.cfg between SD and HDD
Added "The Core Pocket Media Player" (TCPMP)
Discovered Regedit
Discovered TaskMan

Hidden system menu (very cool!)

by yarus
Thread: http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=102390

Fresh install of 2.36 release 3
Map placement optimization

Also, M2Launch and humbletim are potenialy on board to create a launcher program for starting Navigator, File Manager or TCPMC player. It would be way cool to see them chime in sometime soon.

If I missed anyone's achievement or someone want to share a trick or two please do not feel shy and jump right in.

Thank you all for trying to make "Maestro" worth its name.

Hey guys, I have a 5310 and I was trying to follow the other guy's directions but it left me stuck on a Magellan screen with a black dot in the top left hand corner. I wanted mine to look like it in the picture he sent me.

I bricked my Maestro 3200 so now I'm running Destinator 8 on it and its running fine except it doesn't connect to any satellites. Anyone have any ideas on how I could fix this?
