Update:

The usb connection/car charger seems to have sorted itself out. I read of other people having similar problems and it turned out to be the car charger. Must've been my problem as well.

Since that is sorted out, I just added a line to the inf file on my sd card and now iGO opens automatically.

What an upgrade over the Magellan software!!

I bricked my 3225 today. Am following gpschicago1's procedure. Have d/l'd all files, but see that the Canada roads file has been removed from the link he provided for us.....any suggestions where to find another link?
Thanks.

Update....completed all unzipping to FAT32 reformatted 4gb SD card,
lugged it into the gps, fired it up.....and no results past the Magellan blue screen with loaded blue bar!
What am I doing wrong? Are FAT & FAT32 formats both useable on this GPS? Do I need to do something through the BootLoader Menu??

Update II.... I have tried all kinds of various combinations here and can't get passed the "FAT failed" in the BootLoader! Frustrated!!

Please Help me

Thanks, again.
Dan.

Hi, anyone here have any fixes for the backlight control with Igo8 on the Magellan 4250? I am running MP3 and everything is working well so far. At 1st I didnt have any backlight sliders but edited my sys.txt after some reading. There is no magellan 4250 in the data.zip\config\devices so I tried all the other magellan settings. I got the backlight slider controls to show but they have no effect. Here are the settings for the 43xx.ini for example;

[power]
backlight_methods=41
backlight_min=0
backlight_max=255
backlight_manage_values=1

Also I have not tried the bluetooth or voice recognition yet so if you have a link for it as well.

Thank you

Hello all, got this running on a 3250. I have a problem though, Destinator 8 starts up but can not get a satellite signal.
Any help would be great.
Also destinator 8 auto loads through soft button then I can not get back to the file manager program, I can see the soft button icon but it does nothing. Followed the tutorial on the last page, and this is what happened.

UPDATE
OK now get back to filemance, but can still not get a signal. Replaced the INI file but still no luck any suggestions?

Hey man, I feel your pain its like that here.

I am not running that nav app but have you tried the com port/baud rates? Check some of the other post for your unit for any nav app. I have my unit in the middle of something (Mag 4250)but it seems like its on com 2 9600 baud, not sure will check in a bit when I can

Hi ... I am way over my head in these forums. I just bought a Magellan 3250 and find I do not have a code to unlock the voice commands. Do you have instructions ... Magellan for Dummies...... sigh.......

I'm wondering if I can use GPSchicago1's method. I don't have backup of my GPS files for the maestro 3200. Can't get it past the Magellin blue screen. Calling Magellan was no help at all. They pretty much told me I could send it to them and they'd send me another one I'd have to pay for. I don't have my receipt because it was a gift and I never thought to ask for it. Please Help !! Thanks .

What is "2x" ?
Do you still experiencing HDD auto-erase issue ?
Are you able to see HDD via USB ?

I think he meant (He can run stuffs from SD Card for 2 times) then it won't run again.
Next thing he sees is (Blue MAGELLAN SCREEN) on start up.

Hint (Blue MAGELLAN SCREEN), I don't believe he loaded the BL image properly. It's just my assumption.
