@Kopek8 - Just to give credit in the correct direction, jygureshi created the full transparent mode (clear menu bars and full screen map), while Roeka created the EFM (Enhanced Fullscreen Mode). Infama has been quite useful for his inside info regarding updates from HP.

| I stand corrected, and I believe a lot of credit goes out to all the guys who risk bricking their IPAQs, and we all benefit. Thanks, and at least my hat is off to you all! |

Download IZarc http://www.izarc.org/download.html, it's a free archiving utility, handles rar, zip, etc.
Hopefully I won't get in trouble posting it's link here :)
Hope this helps.
Everybody else, thanks a lot. I'm just trying to make the most use of this wild hardware gone HP-mild because of the stripped down version of wonderful iGo8. |

This forum rules! the two map view mods are great. HP could learn a few things from this forum to see what people really want from their ipaq 310s. |

May I ask if anyone has success on showing other language on the device? (esp Chinese)
I am thinking of putting language font into the windows folder but the size would be too big for the flash rom,
Greatly appreciate any helpful input |

Thank Sprog for idea about BlueTooth. I inspected bluetooth too. PAN is possible. First, research Access Point through bluetooth manager. Find your device at the file remotedevice.ini. [ADRESS] relation=0000 link_key=*************** dev_class=0xCLASS name=NAME
Create new key at file shortcut.ini [NAME: PAN Bluetooth] bd_addr=ADRESS dev_class=CLASS svc_class=0x1116 is_default=0 sec_level=0 svc_name=Network Access Point Service dev_name=NAME shc_attrib_len=0 --- Replace NAME, ADRESS, CLASS. Setup IP (Control Panel->Network and DialUp Connections->BTNIC1) if it`s necessary. PAN works well.
SPP is possible. You can connect Ipaq310 through direct connection (Com5) to BT RAS server yours PC. But I don`t see sense.
DUN. My DUN key looks so: [NAME: DUN] bd_addr=ADRESS dev_class=CLASS svc_class=0x1103 is_default=0 sec_level=1 svc_name=Dial-up networking dev_name=NAME shc_attrib_len=208 pshc_attrib0=000000002A00390039002A002A002A003100230000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 pshc_attrib1=000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 pshc_attrib2=000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 pshc_attrib3=00000000000000000000000000000000000000 ----- 2A00390039002A002A002A0031002300 - dial number *99***1# in 16bit ASCII format. Sometimes attempt to connect happens successful (one of ten). Any adeas?
OPP, FTP stacks. You can try OPP, FTP and others (svc_class=0x1105, 0x1106...). I do not know how to use it without the appropriate shell. |

Excellent find, ogromnoye spasibo!
Connects without issue when you use
shc_attrib_len=12 pshc_attrib0=000000002A00390039002300 |

jyqureshi, do you know how to slightly increase the font size where it displays remaining time and time of arrival?
I would like to increase the font size to the same as bottom left of the screen where you display time/date or the mph speed.
Must be my age the fine prints are hard to read.
I figured it out.  |

@misha and lbendlin,
I can't believe I didn't think to just try the number I wanted to dial for the pshc_attrib0 key. I figured there must be some other settings in there like COM ports and baud rates. I was about to install the actual IVT BlueSoleil for WinCE on the IPAQ to try to reverse engineer those text fields with their GUI until I saw your posts.
Incidentally, for those with Sprint phones that need to dial #777 instead of the other numbers mentioned, the appropriate key is: shc_attrib_len=12 pshc_attrib0=000000002300370037003700
Not sure why the two leading 0000 sets are needed, but you guys had them, so I used it too. I noticed that after connecting, the shc_attrib_len has automatically changed itself to 208 and the additional attrib1, ..2, and ..3 fields have appeared with all zeros, similar to misha's listing.

Just a thought.... You can put any valid WinCE application in a submap of the map \\ResidentFlash\IPAQ\OS\GAMES e.g. anyapp.exe in \\ResidentFlash\IPAQ\OS\GAMES\ANYAPP Now I would like to install some new apps on a separate SD card and only provide a link from within the \\ResidentFlash\IPAQ\OS\GAMES\ANYAPP map. That way, I would not take up much space in the ResidentFlash and I still would be able to start up anyapp from within the OASIS interface (with the big buttons and not from winCE with very little ones). Is it possible for example to create a specialapp.exe that reads a specialapp.txt file (that is stored in the same \\ResidentFlash\IPAQ\OS\GAMES\SPECIALAPP submap and contains the full path of the real executable on the external SD card e.g. \\SDMMC\mysubmap\realapp.exe) and starts up this application ? With such a universal specialapp, you should be able to start up everything (even with parameters) from within the OASIS interface. If so, what are the tools to create such a 'specialapp.exe' application ? |
