@remick:
what is the driver name? look at \HKLM\Comm\WLAN11b1\Params\ you will find Ssid defaults to ANY. Set this to the domain you prefer.
Let me know how this works. I've been using a SPECTEC 802.11b card for a month and I have only one big complaint: the generic driver that EVERYONE uses for this card is very poorly written. It apparently polls for input processing every 2 seconds rather than using input interrupts. The driver WILL read input after it completes output processing, but if it is not sending... then it waits 2 seconds until pulling the data up. |

I am sorry. My previous post contained a typing error that has been corrected now.
This is my first post. I have the european 314 version and, following your suggestions, I have installed ToTom 6.01. It works fine except for the fact that it does not find the GPS device. I have tried to configure it from TomTom (tools GPS Configure). It shows COM7 as well as virtual ports COM5 COM6 and COM9. I have tested all of them at several speeds but it does not work. I have not modified the resident flash except for including a folder containing cecmd under games and I use cecmd to launch TomTom. By some reason that I am not aware of, ny device does not boot from SD even when it contains cecmd renamed to CELauncher.exe How can I find out the port and the speed for my GPS device?. Does any of you knows why my device refuses to boot from SD? BTW. Was any of you able of installing versions of TT higher than 6.01? Thank you

I don't recall anyone getting TT6.01 to run properly, in any case this has already been discussed at length, so, assuming you're now using a legit version of TT, click on "printer friendly" and see what you can find.
As for booting into wince with celauncher.exe on the SD it has worked for everyone so far, but you need to do a reset for that to happen. |

Unfortunately, I still do not have this device.
P.S. Whether I right understand, what desktop MPEG4/DivX video this device play without pauses only if resizing is not need?
And what country (maps) can be changed, for example - to buy this device in USA and to install there European maps?
Thank you very much |

It does not work with cards over 2gb!
@Swwaa - Maps on SD cards will be available in 2-3 weeks. So yes, you can buy a US model and in the future buy Europe maps to work on it. Only the native maps will be available via internal flash memory though. |

Nevermind, I must have had a bad data.zip file after re ziping, it worked.
I did notice that my gps signal is not as strong with the new update, anyone else notice that?

You can use stereo Bluetooth audio over WinCE mode!
- boot with CELauncher.exe - set the taskbar "Always on top" - run the BT Manager: "\ResidentFlash\IPAQ\Bluetooth\BlueSoleil.exe" - pair you stereo BT headset - hide the BT Manager (you have a BT tray icon ;) ) - run the TCPMP - enjoy your movies :)
It works with the new firmaware. |

Smurff,
Maybe you need to give it time for the GPS autonomy to reset? Though that should affect TTFF and not strength of the signal lock.
With mine, i did not notice a weaker signal, but will recheck. |

Below two further customizations which may be added to the first post.
Disable "Drive Carefully" warning
To completly disable the #8222;Drive Carefully#8220; warning follow these steps:
File: data.zip \ui_hp_sagan\common\ui\drive_carefully.ui
Replace: <script sc_drive_carefully_init> run sc_drive_carefully_show btn_dc_agree.hide ;ui_drive_carefully_xhtml.z 100005 KEY "RETURN" KEY "REC" KEY "UP" KEY "DOWN" </script>
With: <script sc_drive_carefully_init> ; run sc_drive_carefully_show ; btn_dc_agree.hide ; ;ui_drive_carefully_xhtml.z 100005 ; KEY "RETURN" ; KEY "REC" ; KEY "UP" ; KEY "DOWN" ; </script>
Display status messages on boot
File: data.zip \project_config\hp_sagan.ini
Replace: [loading] show_statustext=0 show_progressbar=1
progressbar_x=234 progressbar_y=377 progressbar_bmp="loading_progressbar.bmp" loading_bmp="loading.jpg"
;text_fontcolor=xFFFFFF ;text_fontsize=30 ;text_x=100 ;text_y=400 ;text_w=600 ;text_align: LEFT = 0,CENTER = 1,RIGHT = 2 JUSTIFY = 3 ;text_align=1
With: [loading] show_statustext=1 show_progressbar=1
progressbar_x=234 progressbar_y=377 progressbar_bmp="loading_progressbar.bmp" loading_bmp="loading.jpg"
text_fontcolor=xFFFFFF text_fontsize=24 text_x=100 text_y=410 text_w=600 ;text_align: LEFT = 0,CENTER = 1,RIGHT = 2 JUSTIFY = 3 text_align=1

Thanks, added to the first message, looks like we're only missing the colors and the speed signs/colors now !
@smurf/infama - Yes, chances are the update wiped the epehemeris data, so you'll need a few days to get the Autonomy assistance back.
Talking about Bluetooth, someone posted a method here http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=109954 to connect a Mio to the internet via a BT Cell phone. I tried it on the 310, unfortunately it seems the WinCE BT controls on the 310 can't access the BT module, too bad... |
