I would definetly not require any benefits - my aim would be just keep these devices running around the world as long as there are devoted users ;) Like said, there are some (pretty much moral) reasons preventing me just throwing the bits to the blue cloud of internet.

I will try to check the backround a bit and be in touch over the e-mail for further details.

I just got Primo 2.0 up and running on my iPaq310. I have three questions. . .

1. What is the procedure to use Primo 2.0 as my main navigation program?

2. Is there a way to use the scroll wheel?

3. Is there a way to enable bluetooth funtionality with Primo 2.0?

1) Set the name of primo.exe to Nav.exe I think
2) Nobody ever got it working with older versions
3) What did you want to do? Make voice calls? Make data connections? For data set up a BT serial port int he HP sftware and make the connection. Then edit sys.txt to point to the correct com port.

Have you overcome your moral hesitations regarding the Rescue files?
It seems you are the only one in the internet who have it :(

Hi I know these files were hosted on Megaupload, however the Feds have closed this site so I would be grateful if someone could mail me the Ipaq 314 files. My unit has got in the loop and won't boot.

in case you have erased and reset the TOC on the flash (pushed option 11 in Engineering menu) you will need a small SD card (32MB will do just fine) and format it. Then you will need to copy following files to the SD card:
Insert the card, plug in the charger and go back to engineering menu. Select option 7):Update package: Nboot, Eboot, logo image and OS and after about 20 minutes and reset you should have PDA with WinCE that is accessible from PC over the USB connection and you can proceed with SW recovery.

HI, It looks like Tarvo is no longer with us, he’s not responded to several requests for these files, hasn’t posted since Christmas day 2011 maybe no longer has the files so is keeping his head down. Shouldn’t they be uploaded for all who need to download as a zip file? As far as I personally got HP UK don’t / won’t supply individuals with rescue kits or specific files, even though they have them. but they would sell me a new motherboard at £90 + 20% Tax and shipping. Oh Yeah!!
It's a great shame that such a nice device could so easily be sidelined, I suppose the moral is the devil makes work for idle hands and not to fiddle –Joking aside, all of us and there must be lot who have bricked this device accidentally over the years need some sort of rescue files on SD card and bring it back from the dead, a kind of “Frankenstein It’s Alive” file! Just so we get the sync . Anyone with an idea where to source these - all would be grateful I am sure. In this days and age of think green and being environmentally conscious one less piece of electronic hardware in a landfill is surely a good thing....isn’t it!

if you go in engeneering mode, you can download the os to the rom from an SD card, option 7 i think... i cant believe that one has to replace the entire mainboard because he press 11 instead of 10.... it is so stupid!

Yeah I know about Engineering mode options and uploading from SD card, but that's the big problem getting those boot files on the SD so that you can get a sync, once you have a sync then you can do the official HP update which re flashes the entire Rom again but HP call it an update.
What I, was referring to was Tarvo who claims to posses these files, when push comes to shove he goes silent! Misinformation may be good for a laugh but doesn't help anyone. HP UK on the other hand could supply these files but they would rather sell a new main board. I suspect they have capital tide up in obsolete spares stock they need to dump, customer support is not high on their agenda.

I'm not sure that HP have a a lot of spare parts they are trying to sell, at least here in Italy, i've reached the customer support and they told me that here they are not going to repair my unit, they just discontinued the repair because they have no spares... at least the told me that...

Sure, and they would have a finite number of spares. Each mainboard has a default language specific Rom (though that is not a problem to alter) I think English language would have been the most common (no disrespect) and hence bigger volumes. My personal HP314 is gathering dust on my top shelf waiting for a solution to the problem.......
