Is there anyway to stop my IPAQ 310 from rebooting everytime I plug in the car charger? And also Primo will freeze enroute, and by pressing the power button to turn it off and press it again to turn it on, it will unfreeze. But sometimes if that doesn't work, have to press reset button to reset the whole unit.
Seems to me there is memory issue. Is there something in sys.txt that I can add to prevent that from happening?

semetimes the Touchlock is causing this problem, do you use it on your unit?
Try also chenging the skin, data.zip and even igo8.exe to different versions.
It used to freez my unit when I had Touchlock running in the background and I didn't
activate the unit on time, it was about 30 sec to slide to unlock, the only way of turning it on was resetting it. |

What is the Touchlock? How do I disable it?
What I have done is move the Primo into the unit memory and change the IGO.exe to Nav.exe
So I still run the HP startup interface, but after clicking the Big Navigation button, it will load Primo.
Should I be doing something different? |

Hi!
I tried to update ROM of my 310 with extended .dll-s (jlagocki). But it stops on:
Update process... 4/4
100%
...
With normal ROM (without extra dll-s) update goes to the happy end. Does anybody knows why this happened? Corrupt file, memory?

maybe you have to wait a bit longer for the unit to restart.
I did load it on my 312 and it worked. Try using all the other files from normal rom,
use just NK.bin, with extras. I will test it again.

touchlock was part of MioPocket, software locking you screen, you have to slide a button to unlock
if you didn't slide within preset time the unit would switch off, it was sometimes causing problems when you were using iGO8.3

I did check it again and have to tell you that you are right,
the file doesn't work, I was trying to add files again to my
312 NK.bin with the same negative result, something happened to dumpromx.exe, which I use to add the whole set of .dll files.
I added some files a few months ago and all was OK, i think I have changed the version of dumpromx, I have to research it again.
In the mean time you can use working NKbin with extra 21 dll files
from my 312, let me know and I will upload it for you, somewhere. |

You are saying no charge, maybe the battery hasn't
got enough power to load the rom, some devices are
refusing to update if the power is too low.
You should charge the battery to at least 50% somehow.
Someone was trying to charge totally flat battery
before it took some time, he had to connect it and disconnect
it a few times before it started charging.

Hello All.
Thanks everyone for interest to my problem.
Battery is fully charged.
I am compelled to use a universal charger as iPaq316 doesn't do it.
After that iPaq works two hours in the Engineering mode. I checked it.
At choice Update OS from Engineering mode iPaq all stiffens.
I think Eboot is damaged, it doesn't start Update process.
Help me please. I need to eboot.nb0

so far no one was able to extract the eboot from working
unit, I think you would need J-TAG knowledge and some
tools to do it, also you would need to know how to connect
it to PC, someone from Russia was trying that before and gave up.
The only option, I think is to send it to HP for service. |

It is bad news to me.
However I don't lose confidence to recover my iPaq.
I will try to remove and reprogram the 2 GB Nand-Flash.
Whether there is at whom a full image of internal memory, all 2 GB ? |

are you suggesting that someone should upload
the 2GB disk image somewhere?
It is very hard to understand, what you are trying to
say, there are few of your sentences:
"I think Eboot is damaged, it doesn't start Update process."

"To Update OS ipaq316 freezes and does not work."
It all can mean that maybe there is problem with SD card, size,
format type and maybe the sd is dammaged.
You shouldn't extract files directly onto SD card. |
