HTC P3600 / SPV M700 : First 3G PDAPhone with GPS Qualcom 6275 GPS Chipset
A worthy successor to the Qtek S100 with a few extras : GPS, WiFi, 3G, 1500mAh Battery !
UPDATED 20070227 : French ROM update availabe for the M700 to activate the GPS Module. Can be downloaded >> HERE << by clicking on téléchargements/mise à jour du mobile. It wieghs in at about 50Mb.
Some preliminary testing shows some decent performance, that doesn't quite compare with SiRFstarIII though in terms of TTFF from a cold start (4+ hours without the GPS module being used). Track comparisons show that it lacks the smoothness of SiRFStarIII too and will require the GPS navigation software to "work harder".
Unlike the SPV M650, it can not benefit from Orange's excellent SUPL-AGPS implementation that would have helped for TTFF.
Otherwise, as a PDA and PDAPhone it is a pleasure to use thanks to its speedy Samsung CPU and fast 3G data connection. Hard to go back to Edge or GPRS once you've tasted it, even if you're only keeping an eye on your emails with nPop. The powerful 1500mAh battery helps you get through your day without worrying about having to save on WiFi or GPS use.
