Merci d'avance.
Hello, I purchased a Garmin GPSmap276C cars on which the distributor has replaced the image of the home screen logo, which would be kind enough to send me the image of origin of this GPS. Thank you in advance.

My 2460LMT has been flawless and great!

I re-installed the Software so now it seems to work o.k. I have been using Base-camp but will try MS again at some point.
Once in a while it seems in my Favorites the GDB file from MS were I got the routes show's the main file name and if I click on it it shows all the way-points in the route. My older units never did that. I deleted all way points and re installed my file on them and it disappeared and still seems to route fine.
It seems finicky compared to the older units not using Trip Planner.

I'm able to create routes in MapSource and transfer onto my 2460 where they show up in Trip Planner. I haven't had any difficulty with this so perhaps something is corrupted on your device as you suggested.
Captcaper Posted - 04 sept. 2012 : 19:45:33
I called Garmin and the Tech guy sent me to Software Issues help. He said Base Camp will do the transfer. Mapsource there is issues with it. MS will do waypoints fine and I've haven't had any issues with that.
I am still having trouble even with Base Camp transferring routes so I ordered a 1490LMT new today. I'll deal with this unit later. Maybe the software is corrupted somehow if no one else has trouble transferring to it.

It's Rick but no matter.

I don't recall ever seeing an hour glass. I'd transfer the route, then safely remove my Nuvi, and go into the Trip Planner and nothing appeared there. It wasn't until I looked at the map screen and saw the calculation message that I realized that something was happening which ended up with the route finally appearing in Trip Planner, after the calculation was finished.

Dan
I know what you are saying. When the unit accepts the route if you go to Trip Planner there is an hour glass working until it calculates. I don't know why it will accept an exact route and other time not. When the hour glass shows working after sending the route then there is a good chance the route will show up but sometimes the hour glass works and the route doesn't show..
So it seems to be picky on when and what it accepts it seems. Maybe a hard reset or software reload might help but I never had issues with the older units with route transfers.

I'm assuming that your 2460 uses Trip Planner and that your using the "Send to Device" feature in Mapsource to send the route to the Nuvi. If that's the case this may help with the erratic route transfer issue your having. I was having the same issue with the 3790 until one time, out of frustration, I went to the map screen after I'd checked to see if the route appeared in the Trip Planner, and of course it wasn't there. When the map screen appeared, the green bar across the top was showing "Calculating" and a climbing percentage number upto 100%. It then hit me that the calculating I saw across the top of the screen was the route I had just transferred from Mapsource. I immediately went back to Tools - Trip Planner and Where To - Trip Planner, and sure enough the route I thought hadn't made it from Mapsource to the Nuvi was now listed.

I concluded from this that the reason that some transferred routes seem to immediately appear in the Trip Planner and others don't is that the route needs to be fully calculated before it shows up as a Trip. This is very much like the old route transfer process where you sent the route to the Nuvi and then had to go into Tools to Import the Route. When you did the Import, the route calculation was done and then it appeared under Where To - Routes. It appears that on newer Nuvi's which use the Trip Planner, you no longer need to Import the Route, as the Trip Planner function just automatically does that and when the calculation is completed the Trip appears in the Trip Planner list.

So if you send a route to a Nuvi that uses Trip Planner and it doesn't seem to appear there, check the map screen to see if it's just taking some time for the route to be calculated. I know that once I saw this happening it cleared a lot of frustration I was having with transferred routes sometimes getting to the Nuvi and sometime not. I just wasn't waiting long enough for the entry to appear.

I guess the honeymoon is over with this unit. It routes weird often but the biggest complaint I have is when I try to load routes into it sometimes they take other times not.. These are made in Mapsource and some have been proven and used in past Garmin's. I use the default file extension in Mapsource gdb.
I have most options unabled like avoid traffic, traffic trends, etc.anything that I can think of to advoid a straight forward calculation.

I picked one at Costco a few weeks ago, did all the updates. I am having problems with Left turnes at certain lights. It will tell me to turn right and turn left at the next intersecion and go through a subdivision to get back the main road. Support verified the problem. Anyone else have the same problem?

Thanks

Earlier in the thread, someone mentioned The 3790/3760 Fingerprints issue - they can be easily eliminated if you order one of those "Screen protectors" from Amazon or Ebay. I had the same issue with an iPhone and Ipod Touch, and it all went away when I installed these plastic screen savers to my devices. These were See-thru Clear but had a slightly textured surface to avoid reflections and fingerprints.

OF course, I didn't realize the problem came back (fingerprints) when I accidently removed it from one of the devices... without replacing it with a spare. So get extra's... you can get them pretty cheap if you buy a generic size from Walmart (in a multiple pack) - I got a pack of 5 for PDA's (a little oversized but easily remedied with a pair of scissors).. all for about $5.

Or you can get them online made with an exact FIT to your device for about $2.00 each sheet. HIGHLY REcommended!

I am considering a new Nuvi. I love the Nulink on the 1690 and was looking at the 1695 to replace my 755. We used MSN Direct with that, and given the death of that service, I am considering my options.

I think I have now used all the traffic services - Clear Channel, Navteq, MSN Direct and Nulink plus XM on my built in GPS in the car. What I like about Nulink is that when I am entering a metro area (like DC or Chicago) it has the traffic before I am in FM radio reception area. I also like the Google search.

I would give those up if the 2460LMT is a much better unit. Costco has them in store for $179 right now.

I am looking for advice. I do not plan trips using the trip planning feature. I load waypoints, head that way, and them the wife and I say - lets take the scenic route, and just turn of routing. I am semi-retired, so usually it is not a big issue.

Traffic is a bigger issue. But I have found none of the services are great. Stuff backs up well before the traffic service knows it.

So what is the view today of the pros and cons. I have read this whole tread tonight.

Glad to hear that it worked well on your first trip with it. Good luck with the device. I've had mine since it first was released and have been satisfied with its performance. I've been uploading new and old MS routes since day one and haven't had any problems with importing.

I bought the 2460lt with a lifetime map bundle from PC Nation for $189. I am pleased with the way it works for me. I love the side data boxes like in the 1490T,2610,etc. Gives the final times and other choices.
I did a 750 mile business trip with multiple stops and worked flawlessly. It also took my routes from MS that I made long ago for my trips and played them well. Love how easy it is to arrange order in triplanner.
I'm doing another trip today and I except the same.

thanks all ..
