Depends what you're referring to, several notifications for the same post (look at the ID number, i.e. 971215 in http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=61931#971215), that happens very rarely, probably email problems somewhere in the chain, or notifications each time a message is posted in the topic you are following, that's normal. |

I've been noticing sort of the opposite problem for a while... I get double notifications of a msg posted to a thread I'm following. Anyone else experiencing this?

It is done on a monthly basis.
If you don't want to resubscribe regularly, you can use the RSS feeds to be informed of new messages in the forums as explained here : http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=33696 |

Regarding my question about unsubscription that just got moved to a locked topic: How often do you scrub subscriptions and is it possible for a general email announcement before this happens?
After this, I promise to lurk only and not bother anybody with another post on any topic. |

No it works fine, I do have to remove category/forums subscriptions from time to time (except for moderators) because people get confused and then complain they are receiving unwanted mail and yell at me...which as you can imagine makes me very happy.
Anyway back on topic, I was telling our friend to use either of the search engines before firing aways with questions already asked several times before.
I'll move this to questions/comments about the site.

Are you sure that is working okay? I have subscribed to all threads in the Nuvi forum, and used to receive a fair few emails every day, but since 1st July I've not received any. I tried sending GPSPassion an email (via the forum), but I'm wondering whether he received it if the email functionality is broken...?!? |
