Posted - 12 déc. 2009 : 18:32:42 UPDATED 20101201 : $59.99 at Amazon -> http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-n%C3%BCMaps-Lifetime-America-Updates/dp/B001PKTFM8
I recieved an email from GPSCity.ca(Calgary,Canada) on a NuMaps Lifetime subscription for only $99Cdn. This is a very decent offer and I will be trying to get my family and friends onto it. Earlier this years I got a sale price of $130Cdn when regular was $150Cdn. The Cdn dollar is up right now so I imagine it plays a factor in pricing the maps. Anyone else seeing good deals from reputable dealers? |

Posted - 28 déc. 2009 : 15:29:26 I believe if your Garmin goes bad and needs to be replaced, Garmin will let you reset the lifetime map update so it can work with the replacement unit, provided Garmin and not the dealer, replaces the GPS. The only problem is Garmin usually gives you a reconditioned replacement and not a new one. Therefore, I wouldn't be in a hurry to register the lifetime update with any new GPS, until you really need a new map update. ( With any new unit, you get a free update anyway, and in most cases, you will be good for a few months with that. If your unit is defective, usually the dealer is better than Garmin. They will probably just give you a new one if your unit is less than 30 days old.)
As far as Amazon pricing goes, it is strange that the digital on line version of the lifetime map updates can also be gotten on Amazon, at a higher price of $95. Shouldn't the digital version cost less since Amazon saves shipping costs when they don't need to mail you anything? It really doesn't make sense, unless Amazon is trying to get rid of remaining card versions they have in stock. That's another reason, if you are considering these map updates, you might want to act on the $79.99 pricing before it is too late to do so. |

Posted - 26 déc. 2009 : 16:17:19 The maps are not transferable. If you get the lifetime map updates the updates are good for the unit you activated them for.
quote: "Purchase a nüMaps Lifetime subscription (sold separately), and you will receive up to four (4) map data updates per year, when and as such updates are made available on Garmin's website, for one (1) compatible Garmin product until your product's useful life expires or Garmin no longer receives map data from its third party supplier, whichever is shorter."

Posted - 25 déc. 2009 : 20:23:30 Oops I evidently have/had traffic mixed up with maps
If you get another gps in say 3-4 yrs, Are the maps transferable to the new unit? |

Posted - 25 déc. 2009 : 14:58:01 Well the first 2 are traffic services and the last one is the maps updates. |

Posted - 25 déc. 2009 : 03:24:21 So what is the difference between these if any?
$60 clear channel download from Garmin $50 navteq download from Garmin $79 numap (which looks like it uses navteq)
is there a clear cut winner here? |

Posted - 25 déc. 2009 : 02:22:19 Amazon pricing does change but rarely daily. The NuMaps price of $79.99 is still valid today.

Posted - 18 déc. 2009 : 19:53:49 This is a very good price from Amazon. The only problem with Amazon is their price changes daily. So if you want this, you need to act on it. Last week they had this priced at $94. |

Posted - 17 déc. 2009 : 22:31:22 If you a have a 760 which it appears he does, the $60 Clear channel download is better than $95!
Its a download, not through the mail
There is a Navteq one for $50 also a download from Garmin.
You don't get extra points for over paying |
