Product page on Xexun site : >> link <<

Hello,
one oft most actual GPS-Trackers currently is the "TK102" from company XEXUN in China. This unit is offered at relatively low prices and by using a lot of different product names ( e.g. via EBAY ).
Inside is a GPS/GSM-Modul "MC55" or "MC56" from SIEMENS with using SIRF3 GPS-Receiver chips.
Simply the "TK102" can respond to polling calls, but it also can be configured for sending in certain time intervals or after moving. Besides this there also is a geo-fence mode and a way for listening to it's build in microphone. Reply messages can via SMS or GPRS.

I am just doing my first steps with "TK102" and up to now only did test it's SMS functions.
Polling so far did run without problems, but i found, there ONLY was a reply in case "TK102" did have an actual GPS-Fix. Nevertheless also invalid positions seem to be stored within it's memory, because when pushing the SOS-Button while there is no FIX, the Tracker is sending it with being marked as OLD messages ( signal:L ).
It would be interesting for me to hear about this behaviour and general experiences with "TK102" also from others.

Klaus

I have also used previously other 3.7V batteries which did not come with the right connector for the tracker, so I had to solder their connector on the inside battery connectors. I also had to make a small hole on the tracker cover so the cable would go outside, and this of course made it unable to use the internal battery, since its connector was being used already.

That flashing LED looks like an "error" code, wonder if I didn't see a mention of it in the manual, did you look it up?

When I call the number, nothing happens.

OK. So, if I want to use a TK1202-2 to send data to my GPRS server (and to buffer the data only when my server is not available - and then to automatically send the buffered data when the server is available again) ....

.... what commands do I send to the tracker? (preferably by SMS to set it up)

Please list all the commands in order - starting from begin123456

Does my server need to take any action at any time - other than just revieve all of the positition reports sent in time order from the tracker?

I discovered that this fu.... TK102-2 does not record ANY logs on the SD card. It's only a buffer.

How/from where you install your own tracking web server ?

What is the tool you used ?

Many thanks for any reply ...

Regards
Manu

"GPS NO" means it's not getting a GPS fix so based on your description (under the blue sky) it does sound like it's defective, hopefully you can send it back?

Just found this old link that is still working : TK-102 cable & connection

@tsk1979,

Both connectors are the same, but the pin connections are not. One connector is used for flashing the firmware, the other one is used for reading data from the tracker (debuging).

Not sure what that cable does honestly, looks like a "mod" ?

It is propietary. You can not use a standard USB cable, the connector is not a mini USB.

Thanks
I saw this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qdLM3n-bUU

It shows two cables. I think one is micro usb. Other is also a variation(though its not the common version)

I have a question about power supply. Does it take power via a micro USB port/mini usb port? If so that means I can use any USB charger with a cable.
If its proprietary, then it means only the supplied cable can be used.

apperently the function lowpowermode123456 1 functions only on the arm-7 chipset and on my 102-2 tracker its not functioning, so my question is how can i know if i have an ARM-7 chipset?[ed]
